Holy Child? Weren’t they moved down to the ISL A bracket after their ‘19 season? Don’t think they won a game in the ISL AA that year. They have 3-4 good juniors but that’s about it.

Anonymous wrote:Probably inviting a ton of hate mail, but based on winter league play, here's my guess at the 'preseason top 10' of where things are in the DC/Baltimore metro area -

Stone Ridge
St Pauls School for Girls
McDonogh
Georgetown Visitation
Notre Dame Prep
Glenelg Country
St. Stephens
Bishop Ireton
Bullis
Madison High School

Any takers?

McDonogh must have really lost a lot of players if they went from undefeated and #1 in 2019 to ranked below SR and SPSG...

It's amazing how people take close results in a quarter-field, short side scrimmage with different rules and try to translate those results to full field, 12 v 12 lacrosse. Yea, it's fun to watch and is great for player development, but there is not a direct translation to the Spring. I suspect when TC is coaching McDonogh and KJ coaching SSSAS wirth full rosters, they will be just fine.

WCAC is playing their spring season. Consolidated and shortened season with no WCAC playoffs. However they are playing and BI will be tough to beat in conference play.

SSSAS is going to be strongest in VA Privates. Solid group of returning upper classmen.

Madison is best in publics in VA and won't lose. That team cannot wait to finally destroy the Saxons who have lost their best players to graduation and will finally succumb to a very talented group in Vienna.

Exactly. The Eagles of McDonogh have NOT won the indoor championships over the last 5 years at least...but yet the Orange Crush (their indoor team) has lost ONE game during that time frame with three different head coaches. They are still the #1 team in the nation and should be. I won't give a ton of hate because I appreciate the first shot over the bow

Maybe they'll finally beat Langley, but Madison already lost to Robinson and Woodson at Fall Brawl. It may or may not translate to the Spring, but the Warhawks lost some talent to graduation too. And Dominion and Riverside probably would have something to say about being the best public.

The real question is whether any of the privates in the DMV will actually get to play. DC government has banned ALL organized sports (indoor or outdoor) and specifically calls out lacrosse in its ban.

But DC is not the same as DMV. And none of the privates in DC are at a competitive level for lacrosse. Your point is irrelevant.

What about PVI?

It looks like the ISL lax season is going to happen. If you are right about DC rules I guess privates will just okay all their games at the schools in VA and MD. It’s doable. 🤞

Considering lots of kids (including mine) have been playing lacrosse since early Fall, both outdoors and indoors, and there are no accounts of a spread due to lax, I think this DC ban you speak of on sports is really overkill.

PVI has absolutely gotten better but they can’t challenge BI and GC in the WCAC. Look for the the panthers to be much more competitive next year, for sure.

They have some really strong 23s from the Pride black team, but definitely agree. They will be competitive but don't have the depth to compete with the top 2 big guns.

Has anyone event seen a schedule? Seems like if they are going to have a season that we actually need a schedule.
