WCAC and VA publics have schedules but ISL has yet to release

IAC in same boat. Could this be because there are some many Bethesda and DC schools and their health departments have been so loopy about schools and sports?

Neh its more likely just typical of the ISL and IAC - they take a while to get the schedules together.

5 of the 15 ISL schools are in DC and until DC lifts its ban on organized sports, it will be hard for the ISL to put out a schedule, unless those 5 schools are able to find practice/game facilities outside of DC. Same for MAC (3 of 7 schools in DC). IAC only has one school of 6 in DC. Here's a summary of the press release from DCSAA -

[Updated January 28]
Today, the DCSAA announced that with the District under a Public Health Emergency until March 17, the DCSAA has scheduled a spring sports season beginning on March 18. Per the Mayor of the District of Columbia, high school extracurricular sports activities and competitions are suspended for DC public schools, public charter schools, private schools, and parochial schools during the Public Health Emergency. Targeting the March 18 start to the spring sport season, DCPS Athletics will publish the athletic calendar for practice and competition dates for all spring sports in the coming weeks. The WCAC has no schedule out.

Just don't see them letting the kids really play regardless of any 'science' that it would benefit them mentally and physically. The 21 senior class needs to just move on to wherever they are headed for college and put their focus there. DC isn't going to budge. Sorry to say.

The WCAC has no schedule out.
My kid's WCAC coaches released schedules to parents this week, but I don't think the info is available online yet.

How many matches and any outside the conference?

The schedule's tentative and will almost certainly change. Currently 10 games, none outside the conference.

So does having field hockey and soccer now right before lacrosse help or hurt the girls without a winter break to rest and recover?

What are you even talking about? These girls dont need to "rest and recover." No real high schol athletes do. They all play year round and definitely workout, trai year round. They are teenagers not 40 yr olds. Plus, the lacrosse girls have all been playing in either indoor lax (Saints, BI, SR, Holton, Visi, and many of the VA publics had teams in St James league; MD had teams in GOALs league) or box lax in McLean this winter and training with Healthy Baller or Perfect Performance. These kids dont take time off other than a week or two in maybe August.

Not disagreeing that they've been training but playing outdoors full field is dramatically different than the St James's quarter field, or the Goals 200 m field. Plus there's substantially less contact. So I agree that their skills should be ok, but its more their fitness and wear and tear bouncing from soccer to lacrosse or fockey to lacrosse is what I think the PP was getting at.

I think the ISL cancelled fall sports this week, so not having that full field season may or may not be an issue for those players. Either way, I think people are deluding themselves if they think the spring season will be anything more than an effort to have fun and get games in for seniors.

Great news on ISL! All fall sports should be cancelled and more time should be given to spring sports to attempt to have a season after they got fully cancelled in 2020!
