Not from what I heard just talking with people. Our pool had one case not even tied to the pool.

I do know a lot of pools didn’t do what we did...not roping off sections, masks, etc.

Some Arlington pools did - but not really. The families that contracted covid were socializing with one another in their homes and also members of the pool and swim team.

I think that we will be able to have two timers, etc. this summer. My hope is that NVSL puts out "rules" for now but with a plan to relax them as we get closer to summer and more vaccinated. The area is approaching 20% vaccinated, in a few months it will be so much more because it is increasing exponentially on that front. Meanwhile our positive numbers are plummeting in the area and are contagion rate says it is not spreading in the area. So two more months we will be able to be pretty close to normal. Masks in indoor public spaces but probably not outdoor and gatherings will be allowed, etc.

This. If you are hanging out in one another's homes and kids are playing with one another and you are eating, etc. this will be the mode of transmission. There were no pool outbreaks even amongst the pools that did very little in sectioning off areas. Even now, with indoor pools which you would think would have some spread, there is nothing. Granted the virus prefers cool and dry over warm and humid to spread.

Pools should be able to open at capacity with no masks this summer.

Add more importantly a good chunk of the population will be vaccinated there will be less points of spread.

Not in Montgomery County.

However our county leader is so conservative about covid restrictions he would probably ban pool touch pads on account of not wanting multiple people to touch the same surface.

Honestly, the Virginia department of health guidelines weren’t any better since they were written for indoor pools yet outdoor pools had to follow them. Some didn’t but ours did because our board didn’t want the health department to stop by and shut us down because we didn’t have these systems in place. I fear not much change and it will be much the same. The only thing that might help is if our pool board is all vaccinated because they might ditch the outdoor mask rule.

I am hoping outdoor masks will not be a thing. They are ridiculous in the scheme. Indoor masks make complete sense.

I can’t blame them for that.

It makes sense when kids aren't vaccinated, many adults aren't vaccinated and people are close together.
