Did any local pools suffer an outbreak in 2020?
Some Arlington pools did - but not really. The families that contracted covid were socializing with one another in their homes and also members of the pool and swim team. I think that we will be able to have two timers, etc. this summer. My hope is that NVSL puts out "rules" for now but with a plan to relax them as we get closer to summer and more vaccinated. The area is approaching 20% vaccinated, in a few months it will be so much more because it is increasing exponentially on that front. Meanwhile our positive numbers are plummeting in the area and are contagion rate says it is not spreading in the area. So two more months we will be able to be pretty close to normal. Masks in indoor public spaces but probably not outdoor and gatherings will be allowed, etc.
This. If you are hanging out in one another's homes and kids are playing with one another and you are eating, etc. this will be the mode of transmission. There were no pool outbreaks even amongst the pools that did very little in sectioning off areas. Even now, with indoor pools which you would think would have some spread, there is nothing. Granted the virus prefers cool and dry over warm and humid to spread.
