Sorry your kid wasn’t in the group they told they’re picking 10 kids by Wed. Ask around that number was told to a group of boys. |
| So mostly just kids from the three clubs there, right? |
You must be a real joy of a teammate. 13u's had 48. About 10 will make the team this week and about 10 won't. There will be a supplemental tryout in February. VLC will make up about half of the team and there will be 3-4 non blc and nl kids. |
| and the u14? |
U14 had mid/upper-60s players. Maybe 5ish outside of the three programs (saw a Crabs, maybe 1 or 2 TC and Hard Lax, not sure if there were others). Same story about three categories (yes, no, maybe pending 2nd tryout). If they were told “X” kids will make the team now, my kid didn’t hear it or didn’t say. I’d guess the ultimate team is heavily weighted (50-60%?) towards DCE with the other two splitting the difference. |
It looked like the numbers were relatively even among the three clubs. Why do you say VLC will make more of the team than the others? |
You are both wrong. They were #6 in the final rankings. @Second person, the website you sent are the pre summer rankings; check their Instagram. |
...
Just an estimate but I thought out of the appx 48 in 13u there were more VLC than the others. I also thought there were easily more standout players from VLC. So maybe 17-18 VLC helmets, 13-14 BLC, 10-11 NL and 5-7 misc. |
Competition was strong. I thought there were only a few kids that clearly stood out. Tough to pick the right kids from just a two hour session. I suspect they fill the starters now (12-13 kids) and 2nd and third string come next year. |
| NVA has fewer reclass kids which is why more VLC kids will be on the final roster |
| Who exactly is picking the 13u team, and who is the coach? |
| Same question for U14 team |
| VLC 2026 dads will definitely be coaching this team |
| Not likely - I don't think VLC allows parent coaches for its regular teams, let alone a WSYL team. |
| I heard the president of Next Level would be coaching U14, but you know how lacrosse #fakenews makes it way through DC Urban Moms. |
