McConnell will put Trump's nominee up before the election, all Rs (with the possible exception of Romney) will vote as ordered by McConnell; all Ds will vote against except for Manchin, who will obey McConnell. Another rad-right SCt justice will be on the court before election day. Trump will lose the election but it will be narrow, the case will reach the SCt and the SCt will find and order that Trump actually won, that Dem ballots cannot for some reason be counted, and that the election results are absolutely dispositive and cannot be further litigated.

America ended tonight. The Bill of Rights died. It is because of the Redneck garbage in the Redneck states.

Start preparing now to join the resistance

Filling this seat is worth more than the 2020 election. The GOP can lock up SCOTUS for a generation if we play our cards right.

I am afraid this will convince conservative people who don’t like trump to vote for him and R senators.

I’m sad that someone died- but to act like age is the death of democracy means you’ve been checked out for too long. Democracy died years ago

Perhaps democracy has died or perhaps we never had a real democracy to begin with. But what about the ideals of Fairness and Justice and Sacrifice. McConnel is ready to destroy these ideals and for what — to keep his party in power. Do we want to live in a Just society or are we content to be ruled by those who care more about power than justice

Again, OR it might convince Democrats, never Trumpers and similar folk to GOTV. That ActBlue thing was no joke. Americans don’t like the GOP.

And Americans don't like the Democratic Party, either.

Regardless of who wins in November, I think both parties are destined to splinter before the end of the decade.

Many more like the Dems than the GOP. The GOP has won the popular vote twice since 1988 — in 1988 and in 2004. Not exactly a mandate from the American people.

Link?

Because polling suggests otherwise.

Why would it? Who exactly is on the fence?

This. No one new is going to vote for a Trump who hasn’t already decided to do so.

PP is delusional. The GOP has tied their longest streak of losing the popular vote since at least 1900 — 16 years. Before 2004 was another 16 years. They’re almost certain to lose it again this year, so that’ll make it officially a record.

Many people are voting for Biden not because he's a Democrat, but because he's not Trump. Support for Biden doesn't automatically equate with support for the Democratic Party.

You wait. Biden will win, and it's possible that both the Senate and House will go blue next year. Then, the real battle for the future of the Democratic Party begins: socialists/progressives vs. moderates. The socialists and progressives will likely yank the party further left, which will cause moderates to leave in droves -- following in the footsteps of blue-collar folks who felt the party abandoned them back in 2016. The "splinter" statement above makes some sense.

Yeah but that’s not because “Americans don’t like the Democrats.” It’s because the Democrats are internally split.

Yeah, I guess the bar is so low that it’s been buried. Go ahead and nominate Ivanka.

+1. No more rapists on the court. I was a never Trumper but that spectacle made me leave the entire party. Voted straight ticket D in 2018 for the first time.
