I judge uber-liberal people. I work hard for my salary. I struggled to put myself through college and I deserve every penny I earn. I think it is ridiculous that I need to share my income with the baby-mama who can't pinpoint who the baby-daddy is... Those who are into wealth redistribution need to get on the next flight to communist wherever, asap.

It's easy to not have to think about the disadvantaged lives of some people life by depersonalizing them via such terms like baby-mama and baby-daddy.

You must have reviewed your surgeon friends' student loan balances, right, so you know they're debt free and raking in the cash? I'm a lawyer, and my student loan bills exceed my mortgage payment. My family thinks I'm rich because I get paid a lot. They forget that I incurred a lot of debt along the way to the degree that allows me to be well paid, and now I have to pay off that debt.

Well, they own THREE homes and buy top dollar everything, so...

Maybe they want their kids to learn how to interact with other kids.

I'm the OJ (original judge) on this one...I should add that it is not a good home daycare. Their 18 month old can't crawl, pull up or walk and the pediatrician blames it on being strapped into a papasan (sp?) 13 hours a day for her first year of life. And I'm not proud of this judging, btw, I just do it.

Why am I not surprised, after reading the hundreds of judgmental comments spewed on this board, to read a response like this?

we all have public schools, we all know the rules and the way to success - study hard and work hard and get an education, so I judge those that cry victimization when clearly it is not an obstacle. I love the example of recent african immigrants who have the highest education level of any group in this country. bravo to my kenyan and ghanan brothers and sisters!

I just find that sad. I'm pretty conservative and the funny thing is I doubt most people know that about me. I'm white, husband is black, DD is biracial. DH and I both have college degrees - I have a Master's - we are middle class. DH is a journalist and I'm a CPA. Our close circle of friends cover quite a wide birth - conservatives, liberals, gays, straights, Christians to wiccans, black, white, asian, goth, professionals, self-employed, etc.

I like that our group of friends have chosen friendship based on the actual person than instead of a label. It's too bad that can't happen more in society.

I'm the other poster in this thread, and that's just sad. I don't blame you for judging. I'm going to judge it as well. An 18 month old who can't even crawl? Provided there is no physical disability or other reason for this, to me that borders on neglect/abuse.

Come on, you're a CPA. There are liberal CPA's so of course you are conservative!

but that means the daycare sucks, not that ALL in-home daycares suck. Our experience is the exact opposite. Our nanny was lame and the daycare is tremendous. It is the basement of a nice home in Vienna and the provider couldn't be more loving or a better teacher. And at $550/week, the savings over a part-time nanny are not even that great.

I'm overweight, have been since I was a baby (I was even breast fed!). I remember dieting as early as 10 years old.

I formula fed one of my children (Breastmilk is not always best - I breast fed the first and he has all sorts of health concerns. My breast milk was poor quality)

I have an out of date hair style and wardrobe - why? I'll still be ugly with new clothes and new hair.

I believe in God, therefore I am stupid on top of all my other problems.

I smoke - not in front of the kids, but in the late evening when I feel like eating.

I curse - I actually lived in a trailer park for 4 years (I am slowly learning that a lot of things I do are WRONG because of my upbringing).

I am white (but I wish I wasn't so Iwould have some excuse for being so angry all the time)

I shop at Walmart - that is what we can afford and we live close by.

I actually did make most of our baby food so I am not a total loser.

I really hate this area...and I wish that my husband (surprisingly I found someone dumber than me to marry me) never took a job in this area. He promised me a better life.

I wish I never found this website.

You don't sound dumb, you just sound like your hard on yourself. Maybe you can give yourself a break.

A lot of people are overweight - the people who judge overweight people are probably too ignorant to see that we live in an environment that encourages people to be fat and that is why almost 70% of Americans are. And I wear a size 2, maybe a 4 with a belt - and have never had a weight problem - I'm just compassionate because I know it's hard for some people, and everyone has issues. Mine just don't happen to be around food. Yes, there is a role for personal responsibility of course, but it is hard for many people.

I don't like this area that much either.
