What do you the most judgemental about?

I need to retract this statement. Yesterday I was flipping through a magazine and saw a Vera Bradley bag I actually liked.

Well, I'll take up the cause since you've fallen to the darkside. Women of MoCo- don't walk around with oversized homespun cosmetics cases on your shoulders. And if you wear them in DC, we can tell you live in the suburbs.

I agree. School snobs are delusional and heartless.

A reading of the DCUM Private/Independent School forum quickly confirms this.

Yes. I would very much like to hear more from the women who went to schools designed for prissy narcissists, and how they've somehow managed to spin this fairly common feat into an illogical, unsubstantiated disdain for those who went elsewhere. Or just decided to say "fuck it", like Steinbeck. When these prissy chicks can show me an achievement along the lines of The Grapes of Wrath, we'll talk. I'll even spring for margaritas. Until then, perhaps they should work with their therapists to identify just what it is that they are so desperately trying to overcompensate for. I have my doubts that a truly accomplished, intelligent, open-minded, good-looking, kind woman with a great sex life and a hot bod would spend a lot of time cultivating a school snobbery, let alone others with similar neuroses.

And yes. You care a great deal what we think about you. You care so much that you probably have duplicates of your diplomas and have them hanging in both your home and office. Or your home office. You walk around with copies of your resumes. You manage to tell us where you went to school within the first hour of conversation. You care what we think of you very, very much. Because without our admiration, you are nothing.

Oooops. I meant to say: "let alone friendships with others that have similar neuroses." Fixed it before you could call me out on it. As all prissy narcissists like to do.

I can hear the silence.

Some of us have filters at work.

First PP here. I have to add to my statement. I judge people who write super long work-inappropriate posts while at work and then have to put in asterisks so they don't get caught (shouldn't you be working???). These are probably the same people who don't want their nannies to have computer access.

I love you! I completely agree.

OK. I really do not want to bring this whole dog thing back up but . . . er . . . I am. I am judgmental of those who insist that all the "talk" about pitbulls generally being dangerous dogs is just myth perpetuated by ignorance. That it is all the owners fault and that pitbulls are actually as gentle as teddy bears. I have posted the following article every time this subject comes up:

http://www.gladwell.com/2006/2006_02_06_a_pitbull.html

While some people thank me for posting such an interesting and insightful article, most of the time the article is ignored. I mean, who wants to take Malcolm Gladwell on? Not many. The article, while fair to pitbulls and certainly pointing out that most disasters are the result of a combination of circumstances, still contends that pitbulls do not let go once they bite, like to fight without provocation, and are dangerous dogs.

I understand that some people find it politically correct right now to like pitbulls. Some people empathize. Maybe you've felt misjudged all your life and identify with pitbulls in this respect. Maybe you've found one pitbull you like. Maybe you're very liberal and object to broad generalizations. I get that.

Still, I do judge people who walk their pitbulls around my neighborhood. I think they are assholes for imposing that danger on the rest of us.

Pitbull lovers: please read the article. If you want to take Malcolm Gladwell on, I'll be open to hearing your thoughts. But please stop saying that all the evidence about pitbulls is myth and propaganda and ignorance. Stop citing me meaningless statistics like Labradors bite more than pitbulls. Yes, this is true. That is because more people own Labs than they do pitbulls -- by far. And the bites inflicted by Labs are almost always superficial. Not the case with pits.

I also judge: school snobs, anyone who respects Rush Limbaugh, women who do not remove their facial hair, and people who do not exercise.

I think the school snob lady got quiet once I told the story of how I outed one of them. What a pussy.

Yes you do. I judge people who say what they don't mean. "She is a poor little whore, bless her heart", "I love him, but he is a piece of shit", "I hate to say this, but your husband is having an affair", "I don't want to bring the dog-fighting subject back up, but I'm gonna."

When I said ". . . er . . . I'm going to" I was recognizing the irony. I felt strongly enough about the issue that I wanted to post the article again.

point is, there is enough (huge) room for doubt with pit bulls, given the statistics, their strength, breeding, etc., that why would anyone buy one of those instead of a collie or lab or whatever?

I have a german shepherd and love her to death, but even I am rethinking that decision as I see how protective she can be.
