DC Public and Public Charter Schools
That's not how the OOB lottery works. By the way- how do you know the rowdy kids you're complaining about are OOB? You're not entitled to special rules. These kids don't have to switch schools because of a few racist pearl-clutchers like yourself. |
You're addressing multiple posters who are all calling you out for your behavior. if you don't like groups of teenagers, stay away from the area. It's a bit city. This is what normal, not insane people do. |
These kids deserve to get home without some entitled jerk like yourself trying to expel them from their school so they can shop at Panera without exposing their precious little ears to the F word. And EVERYONE is entitled to use the metro escalators, not just the elderly residents of the neighborhood. When I lived near Tenley, it was usually the boomer residents who would shove past me and my newborn baby to get on the elevator even though it was clear they could use the escalators too. But maybe since I wasn't white they assumed I wasn't a resident and therefore not entitled to use it as much as they were. Glad you cleared that up! |
I like how they would RUIN the life of a child by expelling them from the best high school DC has to offer to send them to a vastly inferior high school because their shopping experience at Tenley is "downright unpleasant". How do you live with yourself? |
+1 million. |

But seriously people, it is never fair or wise to generalize like this. Some of my "boomer" neighbors are the most supportive, dedicated, active in the larger DC community, and sharing people I have ever met. Starting youth organizations that ran in DC for 30 years, assisting immigrant support organizations in active and consistent ways. I just want everyone on both sides to calm down and note that insulting whole groups of people is never the answer. |
Because they're acting like teenagers and swearing? I think the St Albans kids are far worse, but you don't seem to have an issue with them. You disgust me (and others it seems like). |
+1. Only thugs don't object to thuggish behavior. The rest of us expect decent behavior in everyone walking the neighborhood. Quite simple. |
And they are the people who "pay the taxes and obey the laws." They don't want not-infrequent mayhem in their community caused by a relatively small but mendacious group of Wilson students. Why should it be so difficult to address this problem? |
I'm not sure you understand how the OOB process works. If you look at DCPS's materials, one of the remedies for students violating rules is to return them to their neighborhood schools. For those worried that this might "ruin some student's life" to be switched from Wilson back to their neighborhood school, then I'd say the solution is for those students not to cause problems around Wilson. If students don't act like jerks - i.e., don't throw rocks at traffic, don't shoplift, don't get into fights on the sidewalks - they won't have anything to fear. If those students can't resist engaging in antisocial behavior, then they do not deserve the privilege of attending Wilson. Simple. |
I think you're lying about the St Albans kids doing "far worse." But regardless, I'm quite confident that if you contact St Albans to complain about how their students are misbehaving, the school will swiftly respond to address the situation. If you snap a picture of the kids or identify them somehow, I can guarantee the school will discipline them. Can we expect the same from DCPS? |
Wilson is the best high school DC has to offer? I don't care what the IB school is (could be Eastern, btw, which isn't that bad), OOB is a privilege, not a right. If they don't want to RUIN their lives, they need to not ruin other people's mornings and afternoons. |
No. That would violate DCPS policy and procedures, which you don't have a right to know. |
You are a disgusting person. It's not s privilege to attend Wilson- as taxpayers its their right. And we all see your racism. You don't know that they're out of bounds. |
