At least one of the news articles actually cited the thread. I think she’s really mentally ill, not just a grifter. And Alec is in a weird codependent thing with her. It’s really sad. She was monetizing her fake ethnicity on her blog. She even got some sort of Latina award. People were pretty pissed and I think she lost all her sponsors. I guess getting Alec was also part of the grift. It seems she met him early on in her fake Spanish phase and he was captivated by her Spanish style. At some point he must have realized it was a con but at that point he was in too deep? Or she has him hypnotized? It’s really too bizarre to explain. Her parents are super American, not at all spanish, so he must have clued in when he met them, if not before. It almost makes it seem like he has early onset dementia or something.

There are reports the “Spanish” guests and his guests had to sign NDA and not intermingle at the wedding. Her parents asked acquaintances from Spain if they wanted an all expenses trip to America to attend the wedding. They didn’t want Alec’s side to pick up on the ruse.

Her only family that lives in Spain (note…not FROM Spain. She has none of that) is her nuclear family (parents and brother).

I am so fascinated how she kept up with the lie. And how much she must really hate herself.

Those kids’ tell alls are going to be something. Those triple set of three syllable Spanish names, being told from birth you’re Spanish. Then learning your whole life is a lie. Effed up.

I think it's enough of a shitshow it's not hard to see why they'd stay away. I think they have a normal son and grand babies near them. She has such a glaring personality disorder I can only imagine she's probably ostracized many up to and including parents.
