friends, by the time you’re using the acronym “tq” and imagining anyone outside your social media bubble has any idea what you’re talking about, you’ve lost the plot. that’s precisely what it means to be too online and not in touch with what regular people think, talk, or care about. |
I just came on here to confess that every time I come across this thread title in Politics, I read this as "Rats are terminally out of touch with normal people". Makes me do a double take. Anyway. I am all for laws to protect not-straight people at school and in the workplace, but I agree with some posters who complain that we don't need to see so much skin, BDSM and vulgarity on display. Celebrating one's sexuality should only go so far in public. And yes, that does throw off a lot of people. I close my eyes and support more equitable laws, because in the end that's what's important, but ugh. I will never go to a Pride parade, like sexualized drag queen displays, or any of that stuff. So vulgar. |
Um, *one* Republican said that. Not plural. ![]() |
Even my gay family members and friends don't attend Pride events. How weird that you would assume every gay person attends these things. Many gay people just want to live their lives and don't feel the need to announce their sexuality by parading in stupid costumes. |
And yet, you probably think dressing in fetish costumes in Pride parades are what "normal" people do - gay or otherwise. Talk about losing the plot. |
Um, it's also part of the Texas GOP's platform. https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-politics-and-policy/texas-gops-new-platform-calls-gay-people-abnormal-rejects-trans-identi-rcna34530 |
NP. Agreed. Gay rights are accretive to society; we all are better for gay rights and nobody is hurt by gay rights. Trans rights in contrast strip women of their own hard-fought rights. Gay rights and trans rights are not the same, and people see that. |
+100 The lack of self-awareness from the left is staggering. |
I notice too, that our trans individual on this forum, has not done lengthy commentary on this post, as his his/her custom on other posts. |
These comments are precisely what caused me to stop supporting “trans rights”. Is that your intention? No one is talking about camps, they are talking about preventing males from being in women’s sports and prisons. |
Yes, we know. You're obsessed with women's sports. WE KNOW. You're just off on your little ice floe shouting about women's sports, 24/7, while the rest of us would like children to stop getting murdered at school. |
Only one of us is shouting and using all caps my friend. Yes, I am very interested in keeping Women’s sports, bathrooms, locker rooms, and prisons single sex. I also care about children’s safety. It’s possible for most of us to support multiple issues. |
