The Satanist is not a distributor. The Satanist is a designer that Target partnered with. The Satanist who designed the “Satan respects pronouns” shirt is the same designer Target selected to create merchandise for this year’s pride campaign. Your friend in that video is misrepresenting the relationship that Target has with the Satanist.

You are creating an issue out of nothing. This is why people, especially the younger generations, are not voting for republicans and becoming less religious.

Target is not selling any Satanic-themed clothing in its stores, not to adults, and certainly not to children. The designer behind the merchandise is also not a "Satanist" and says the t-shirt was created to be campy and satirical-something the right-wing has shown they cannot understand.

https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/target-pride-collection-abprallen-satan-b2345220.html

And FWIW, the artist has been inundated with requests from others to buy their merchandise.

Congratulations, you look like a damn fool.

Target has lost $9B in market cap since this issue broke.

Your problem is that you think people have to be religious ans hard right to think it's demented to dress babies as Satanic trans activists.

As long as the left continues to talk about people who cringe at or are repulsed by this kind of stuff like they are evangelicals, they will continue to alienate people. The evangelical hard right does not to $9B worth of damage. This is the mainstream who is like, hey I'm good with LGBTQ stuff but I draw the line at satanic trans babies.

Honestly, PP, this "satanic" stuff is so normie now that it's almost too basic. It's tongue in cheek. It's the tiniest bit salty. You sound like Church Lady - it's just crazy out of touch.

Ok, give us your explanation of the $9B loss in market cap. Go on.

Do you realize how the stock market works? Target stock is actually trending up this morning.

So just FYI, Benny Johnson is a perfect example of someone who is SO interesting and fun for people who are Very Online -a and just doesn't exist outside of the Very Online world. If you're citing Benny Johnson, you're in a weird little MAGA loop.

But, as we keep saying - the more you stay in this strange little padded walls universe talking to each other and sure you're speaking to and for everyone, the less your chances of winning elections. Not no chance - I'll never be that cocky - but you lessen the chances for sure.

We get it. You hate gay people and think they should be hidden away so you don't have to think about them.

Well guess what. Gay people exist. They are human beings just like you are. And they have a right to exist and to live their lives. So what if there is merchandise geared toward them. Completely insane to be losing your sh!t because there's merchandise connected to the LGBTQ community. WTF. There's also merchandise geared toward hunters. And Disney lovers. And left-handers - does that freak you out? Left-handers are outliers, too.

Most people had no issues with gay people and fully supported their rights until the TQ latched onto the LGB and there was a big shift in the direction of the movement. Now nearly 20% of Gen Z identity as LGBQT which is unheard of in earlier generations. Transgender people used to be extremely rare but it has sky rocketed over the past 5 years especially among teenage girls. You have to be an idiot to believe there is no social contagion going on. Males are now competing in women's sports and winning women's awards, ridiculous sayings like uterus havers, pronouns in bios. Companies are creating LGBQT merchandise geared specifically for kids including babies and parents are sick of their kids constantly being exposed to this stuff. There are plenty of gay people who are fed up with what has happened to their community as well with some suggesting the LGB separate from the TQ. When the pendulum swings too far in one direction it will inevitably swing back the other way.

You claim there are no issues with gay people and then in the next sentence express your alarm that the number of gay people seems to be growing.

If you have no issues with gay people why would it bother you that there are seemingly more of them?

Yeah, no. Gay person here. Mainstream culture has only been accepting of gays and lesbians in the last decade. Most of my gay friends, especially ones older than me, remember all too well of the discrimination and prejudice they experienced in the 80, 90s and early 2000's. Seeing this same type of discrimination against transgendered people reminds us all that the homophobia from the past has never truly gone away.

Please stop patronizing us gay people, especially now that it's socially acceptable to accept us, and insinuate that we are not in favor of trans rights. If anything, we realize that if trans people are ostracized and society accepts it, gay people will be next.

Then you haven't been listening to others within your community. No one is talking about denying rights to transgender people but you are mistaken if you think there isn't growing frustration.

Weirdly, the exception is Trump. This isn't my observation but I agree with it - he drives online discourse while people like Meatball are just constantly reacting to online discourse. I loathe Trump and hope to gd that neither he nor Meatball become president - but I think he is much better at reading the room than your other guys right now.

But please, keep talking about Satanists invading Target. It's a very normal thing, and I'm sure won't lead to a bunch of maniacs showing up with guns demanding to see the pedophile ring in the basement.

Maybe it will be one of the new white brown people who want to rescue kids this time?

DP. But the pp clearly doesn't have an issue with gay people, they have an issue with TQ. And that makes sense because the expansion of TQ does substantively change rights for various groups, notably female athletes and prisoners. So it's perfectly logical that many people who are in favor of gay rights would balk at the existence of more and more trans people. Right now, trans athletes and prisoners are relatively rare. But soon they will be 1 in 5, and women will have different rights and opportunities than they used to enjoy.

+1

What are people’s “solution” to what they are complaining about? Apparently it’s to ban trans people out of existence.

Rob Smith? The guy who complained about Uganda killing LGBT people and then blaming it on the "woke agenda" from the US? No thanks.

FYI, when you search that hashtag, it yields results where is compares trans people to nazi's. So, once again, please stop pissing on my leg and telling me it's raining. Most gay people support trans rights because we are inclusive, not hateful people like Rob Smith.

There is no reason to even bring kids into it. The designer did that

Where did the designer "bring kids into it". That has been debunked several times:

I would agree a majority of people including gay people are supportive of trans rights like being free from discrimination in housing, employment etc. Most people want adults to be able to live their lives in whatever manner is best for them. I'm sorry but many draw the line at things like Lia Thomas competing against women, young kids sterilizing themselves and women getting raped in prison. "Love is love" is a very different message than what is being pushed today which is why recent polling has shown less support for the LGBQT+ community. This is the truth whether you care to believe it or not and here's an article from the Washington Post showing how most Americans supports these supposed "anti-trans" laws which are really protecting women and children laws.

I have to say, there's a lot I hate about Republicans - and their scary, apocalyptic "promises" about what's coming is up there at the top of what I hate most. But it's a big top. Very top-heavy.

Isn't it the Democrats who have been talking about their apocalyptic "promises" concerning climate change? Al Gore said many of the world's coastal cities would be inundated by sea level rise by 2023. Of course, he said that while owing a Tennessee mansion with three people living in it that consumed more power than a small town. Liberal hypocrite.

yes and humans did a lot in the intervening 30 years to help mitigate so instead of 2023 it is now more like 2050, but there is still more to do to try to prepare while also mitigating. Thanks for making the point that we CAN do something about it.

Also in one case we're trying to avoid the catastrophic existential threat - climate change

While in the other, the Rs are positively giddy about a dictator. They know that saying this stuff is creepy, weird, and sort of scary to normies - but those R weirdos love it, themselves.

I guess they love the threat of climate change, too. They're lusting for it. They are such strange and off-putting people.

LOL! Dictator? Forcing people to get vaccinated or lose their jobs? Even when the vaccination is not proven to work?
Forcing schools to close by local Dem School Boards. And, the President supporting those SB and attacking those who criticize. Mandating that Trans women and girls be allowed in women sports? Contrary to public wishes.

Forcing women to stay pregnant….banning books…….don’t say gay……

Except we are not seeing reasonable laws being passed here. When the republicans are using government to intrude into private medical decisions, it's extreme and hateful. Moreover, if republicans are truly fine with LGB people, why are we still seeing this: https://www.npr.org/2022/06/24/1107244492/texas-gop-platform-embraces-far-right-and-anti-gay-rhetoric

How do you think your average person is going to react to tuck friendly swimsuits, Pride onesies for babies, "gender fluid" mugs, and clothing designed by a Satanist. Adidas recently used a male to model a woman's swimsuit and we all know what happened to Budlight after the Dylan Mulvaney debacle. Your normal, average person is turned off by all of this being shoved in our faces especially when kids are being targeted. If you think it is just Republicans think again.

Do you not believe in capitalism? Corporations are based on one thing and one thing alone - making money. Usually by selling something. If it doesn't sell they'll stop production.

Are you a commie who wants to regulate businesses?

No it actually has to do with the following below. Companies are rewarded for pushing this stuff because it improves their scores. Nothing to do with sales although Bud light is definitely feeling the almost 30% drop in sales.

Way to prove the point of the thread. Normal people do not give a sh|t about this.

Well I say enough people give a shlt about this otherwise Budlight would not be panicking over a massive drop in sales. Other companies including Target are now afraid of being "budlighted" as well which is why Target removed items from their Pride collection.

Unfortunately both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of being out of touch when it comes to certain issues. Access to safe abortions is a great example as others have mentioned. A majority of Americans are in favor of abortion but with restrictions. Democrats on the other hand are too soft on crime and we can see the ramifications of these liberal policies. Escalating crime is a concern for a lot of Americans.

Target is worried one of you lunatics is going to come in and start shooting - that's why they pulled the pride merch.

And most normal people want to avoid mass shootings.

No the truth is they are worried about facing a similar situation as Budlight. Interesting how Target seemed to have no problems with actual violence when their stores were getting destroyed and ransacked during the BLM riots.

An it's the unhinged trans activists you have to worry about committing violence. You can read stories of women getting punched and assaulted by these lunatics. At the Let Women Speak event in New Zealand they punched an elderly woman in the face. Look what happened to Riley Gaines in San Francisco simply for choosing to speak out about protecting women's sports. They love to give death and rape threats to women dare to who speak up.

In fact the satanic designer hired by Target has a collection (not sold at Target) promoting violent things with sayings such as “We Bash Back” with a heart-shaped mace in the trans-flag colors, “Transphobe Collector” with a skull and “Homophobe Headrest” with skulls beside a pastel guillotine. Other products include enamel pins saying “Heteronormativity Is A Plague,” “Time’s Up For Transphobes,” “Join My Gay Cult" and “Trans Witches for Abortion” button. Do you think your average person agrees with promoting evil crap like that??

I was right about violence coming from lunatic activists....

Several Target stores in Utah, Pennsylvania, and Ohio received bomb threats relating to the store's Pride collection. An email was sent to Cleveland 19 News on Friday threatening five stores in Ohio's Jackson Township, Boardman, Stow, Niles, and Monaca, Pennsylvania. The email referenced what it called Target catering to the wants of "homophobic right wing redneck bigots."

"Target is full of...cowards who turned their back on the LGBT community and decided to cater to the homophobic right wing redneck bigots who protested and vandalized their store," read the email. "We won't stand idly by as the far right continues to hunt us down."
