I have to say, there's a lot I hate about Republicans - and their scary, apocalyptic "promises" about what's coming is up there at the top of what I hate most. But it's a big top. Very top-heavy.

Isn't it the Democrats who have been talking about their apocalyptic "promises" concerning climate change? Al Gore said many of the world's coastal cities would be inundated by sea level rise by 2023. Of course, he said that while owing a Tennessee mansion with three people living in it that consumed more power than a small town. Liberal hypocrite.

yes and humans did a lot in the intervening 30 years to help mitigate so instead of 2023 it is now more like 2050, but there is still more to do to try to prepare while also mitigating. Thanks for making the point that we CAN do something about it.

Also in one case we're trying to avoid the catastrophic existential threat - climate change

While in the other, the Rs are positively giddy about a dictator. They know that saying this stuff is creepy, weird, and sort of scary to normies - but those R weirdos love it, themselves.

I guess they love the threat of climate change, too. They're lusting for it. They are such strange and off-putting people.

LOL! Dictator? Forcing people to get vaccinated or lose their jobs? Even when the vaccination is not proven to work?
Forcing schools to close by local Dem School Boards. And, the President supporting those SB and attacking those who criticize. Mandating that Trans women and girls be allowed in women sports? Contrary to public wishes.

Luckily the vaccine has worked and is working. So your scenario is false from the get-go.

People have to get vaccinated all the time. For school (do you not have children or remember when you were a child and had to get vaccinated. As in yes you were forced to either get vaccinated or to go to a different school if you chose not to). Also to travel to certain countries.

I realize R's do not care about the common good or doing the right thing for society's sake. But man. More than 1,000,000,000 people dead. Including relatives of mine from before the vaccine. And I'm willing to bet also relatives and friends of yours.

So yes, if you work in a field like health where you interact with a lot of people and are told you need certain vaccines to be able to go into work, then you will have to choose between getting the vaccine or rejecting it and quitting your job. Lots of jobs have various requirements. If you don't like having requirements for a job then start up your own business.

I’m sorry, but this thread title is so hilariously ironic. Yep, “normal people” just want to make a living and assure that their daughters will have no space free from males. You’ve got it!

+ a million

Not to mention the effort to control what we drive, how we cook, what refrigerators and dishwashers we purchase, etc. etc. etc.

Republicans are hardly the dictators here. And, anyone who knows Jesse Kelly knows what he meant by the tweet.

You are also hilariously out of touch if you think that people should know who Jesse Kelly is, and take this with any context other than Republicans keep trying to take all my rights away.

You can lash out, whatever - just know that this is how your side is perceived by the normies. Hate the normies, yell that we're wrong, no really it's the Democrats who blah blah blah - that is just not how most people experience things.

Anyway, good luck to you with Puddin Fingers' big campaign rollout with weirdo Elon Musk. Very salt of the earth, man of the people kind of thing. Not at all the behavior of someone who's mistaken twitter for real life.

They could have kept it but for that freshness dating they introduced some time back.

The rapidly approaching climate apocalypse from massive sea-level rises means the Obamas would never, ever, do something like buy beach front property in Hawaii . . .

oh wait. They did.

Anyone with a brain knows climate change flooding isn't coming quickly (unless you are in Norfolk, Charleston or parts of Florida). It's a long process. Rich people (or newly rich people) are going to do rich things, unfortunately.

As a moderate progressive who used to live in a deep red state, I would vote blue but not ever talk about politics with anyone. It literally wasn't safe, and this was before the wackadoodles were really riled up in 2015+.

Keeping graphic sexual novels out of schools that depict graphic images of sexual acts with sex toys by gays and heterosexual parents is common sense. No one is saying the books cannot be published. No one is saying the books cannot be sold--just that they should not be in schools that serve minors.

As for abortion, there needs to be a middle ground. I don't know what it is, but I would suggest that, as a woman, I know that most intelligent women do have control of their bodies and use birth control if they are sexually active.

Abortion up to the moment of birth is ghoulish.

Nobody is telling you what you can and cannot read.
Nobody is negating people's votes.

As for the whole abortion issue.... don't forget that there is another life involved.

Are you actually a woman? Maybe you would know that birth control can fail, and that access to birth control is not always available for disadvantaged women. And abortions are necessary healthcare for many reasons. No one has an abortion up to the moment of birth! That is birth.
