A lot, lot, more of Karl. I agree -- it's NOT ENOUGH to just go vote. Bring your neighbors and your spouse and your best friends. |
I'm glad to hear this because I've wondered about it, too. He made a big appearance at the Mosaic Elementary renovation Zoom meeting, and was introduced as something like "someone who has an abiding passion for this project"... sure. Karl Frisch has never once answered any emails I've sent about Mosaic Elementary in the past few years, EVER, so I question that characterization. But maybe the school district officials just want him gone out of their hair, too

He must have some $$ backing him up b/c we are getting DAILY mailings -- and today, I'm apparently getting TWO appeals from Frisch. (I saw the USPS preview of my mail).
And, yes, I did notice that he's been suddenly sending out FCPS emails. I hope people don't fall for his schtick. |
It seems rather desperate and pathetic. Does he want to get elected to another position now so that his failures as a School Board member won’t get the full attention they’d get if he ran again for SB next year? |
| Ben Tribbett is all over sleazy Karl and I’m here for it. |
I can't find much on her campaign online. I'm in Frisch's district. We were moving out of the country in late 2019 so I admittedly didn't pay much attention to the race, but I did have these two weird loons approach me at my home twice, before the election, to rant against Frisch because of all the terrible things my kids were going to be taught if he got elected. That was enough to convince me to not vote for his opponent and cast a vote for him. I will definitely be paying attention to who runs for his seat. I can't campaign due to Hatch Act restrictions, which sucks. |
You’re talking about people campaigning for Frisch’s opponent endorsed by the Republicans. There was a woman who had a background in data science who lost the Democratic endorsement to Frisch. She’s a teacher in FCPS now so she can’t challenge him, but three years have shown just about anyone would be better for the Providence seat on the School Boardwalk. Frisch is a slimy jerk who has done nothing to improve things for students in his district. |

Can a person be on the FCPS school board AND a state delegate?
Is it possible he wants to be both? School Board members get paid $32,000/yr. Interestingly, delegates get paid $17,640 + $211 per day that they are in session (which is 60 days or more). So, he's looking at about $30,000 as a delegate. |
It’s very clear under Virginia law that a state delegate cannot be elected to a local school board and while less clear it also appears a school board member cannot serve in the House of Delegates. Frisch belongs on neither. |

On his current campaign page Frisch is taking credit again for “Saving Blake Lane Park.”
It reveals what Frisch’s agenda always has been in the School Board - not overcrowding relief, or more seats at schools for kids where they were needed delivered on a timely basis, but saving a dog park patronized by his own crowd. Whatever you think about that, it should not have been the priority of a School Board member, but clearly it was done in anticipation of a later political campaign. This man has no morals and is complete and utter trash. |
Don’t worry, you aren’t the only one who couldn’t be bothered to research candidates yet insisted on voting anyway. There were thousands of you which is why we have the current board. |
| Please people in this district, anyone but Karl. |

Early voting starts tomorrow (Tuesday) for this seat! It’s important to know, you will NOT vote at your typical polling location!
For early voting, you vote at FCDC HQ near the Merrifield post office on Tuesday between 10:00-2:00 or Thursday between 5:00-8:00. For Saturday voting, you vote between 10:00-4:00 at the Patrick Henry library in Vienna, Oakton Elementary, and Kilmer MS. Please be sure to vote and please get 5 friends to do the same! |
Just FYI, most federal employees can campaign for a partisan candidate on their own time, they just can’t *fundraise* for a partisan candidate. They can donate funds, attend fundraisers themselves, canvas door to door, and share information on their own social media page as long as it isn’t aimed at raising money. |
