Why are we assuming the paternity is known?

"Desperation"? On the contrary, the left seems desperate to make sure the public believes this story, without any evidence whatsoever. Of course the girl's information wouldn't be released - but the rapist's information and arrest most definitely would. So where is it? Why hasn't he been arrested yet?

Would his info be released if he is also a minor?

The arrest would be released, not his hame.

An arrest would be released but the arrest report wouldn’t say “this is the guy who raped the 10-year-old whose doctor spoke with the Indianapolis Star.” It’s unconfirmable.

What do you mean?

As someone who used to work with domestic violence/child abuse victims, please understand that the vast majority of these cases do not end up in the criminal justice system. I can't believe that these so-called "pro lifers" are trying to track down a CHILD who has been raped and abused. OF COURSE everyone who knows about her case will do all they can to keep her identity hidden.

No, you cannot. Not as a govenment agency. There are special restrictions on potential identifiers such as age (at any given time, "pregnant" + "specific very young age" in "specific area" is going to be a likely unique identifier). Private citizens are bound by fear of being sued, but public employees have specific presumptive restrictions.

Test it. Call up your local CPS unit -- for DC, it's CFSA at https://cfsa.dc.gov/service/report-child-abuse-and-neglect . Ask if they can confirm or deny that, say, there is a pregnant 11 year old. Just do it. I'd bet a paycheck that you do not get a straight yes or no.

Put your money where your mouth it. Test that assumption you are so fond of. See if it holds.

Did you call, PP?

No. I was too busy following up on the results of the FOIA in Ohio. No one - NO ONE can confirm the story. It's a lie

Someone FOIAd every police department in Ohio?

What, you think PP would shitpost without having the receipts to back it up? Well, I never! /s

The Ohio DA, police departments, and abortion clinics have no record. In addition, Dr. Bernard is full of comments in the past, was outspoken prior, but now is all 'no comment'. She has a history of not reporting abuse cases to the state, something she is legally bound to do.

I think Dr. Bernard is our next Jussie Smollett.

And, the IndyStar is the new Rolling Stone.

Bingo on both counts. If this turns out to be a fake story, there isn't enough disgust in the world for me to heap upon this doctor and those posters who were ranting about it here daily. Absolutely sick.

Oh please. A respected doctor says it’s true. There’s no reason to think it is not true. It’s not like she’s going to release a name and a location. Doctors are bound by HIPAA not to mention all the issues of this being a minor coming into play. Save your angst and contempt for the racist…

Every police department and county/city/township prosecutor in Ohio?

The DA. So yes

Someone was claiming earlier that everyone had been FOIAd. DA saying something on Fox is not equivalent to that.

The DA publicly stating this information can be taken as true and factual based on his position and access to the information. At this point, the burden of proof is on thw side claiming this happened-- both that the girl exists and that the law would preclude her from obtaining an abortion in Ohio. It appears neither of those things are true.

I lived through the Trump years. I no longer assume Republicans are telling the truth, ever.

There very likely isn’t an arrest involved in this scenario.

Not sure what your last sentence means, but overall I agree with you.

This is exactly what we warned forced birthers about. We warned them that there would be horrific cases. This little girl got the care she needed, but others won’t. What’s going to happen to them? What’s going to happen to the mothers who already have more children they can care for? Here’s a historical story about it: John Turturro’s grandmother died of a failed abortion and it destroyed her family in her death: https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2022/07/08/john-turturro-grandmother-abortion/

You whacked out forced birthers won’t even hear most of the stories that your heinous fascism will cause and I think that’s how you like it. You like pretending to yourselves and your equally stupid instagram followers that this is a win for “life.” It ain’t. You don’t give two s**ts about life or women or children. You just like controlling women and girls and if that causes immense suffering, you never have to hear about it so what do you care?

Repected? No. Activist.
And, nobody wants to know the name of the victim. We do want to know that whoever raped this child is brought to justice (if this case actually happened)
Doctors are ALSO mandated reporters. The rape of a child is a crime. Has this "respected doctor" reported this rape to authorities?

Ohhhh we’re to the “aCtIvIsT” stage of GOP whining already?

As has been (patiently) explained to you (numerous times): you wouldn’t know. But it’s a GOP state and I know how seriously they take the investigation of rape because females aren’t people in the GOP, so it’ll be shelved and ignored. Or, given the vast numbers of pedophiles in the GOP, they’ll learn from the rapists’s mistakes.

There must be a way to confirm that reports have been filed and an investigation has been opened without disclosing the details of it. If no reports have been filed, and no investigation has been opened, it's a bit fishy.

DP. How would knowing the specifics of how she became pregnant affect your views on whether she should have access to an abortion?
