The Laptop

"Emails confirmed" - which ones, specifically? The laptop has HUGE chain-of-custody issues. Anything that could be independently confirmed and corroborated already was, back in 2019. Yet there were no indictments then, nor in the 2 years since. And even today there are huge gaps in what can be corroborated, and the most questionable ones that have been corroborated have their own issues, like Tony Bobulinski, who was pushing the "Big Guy" ones while having his own serious fraud problem along with the questions about his "evidence" which included photos of iPhone text message screenshots shown on an old Blackberry with a cracked screen which was connected to a Russian cellphone network at the time the photos were taken.

The Daily Mail claimed this week that forensics experts had verified the authenticity of messages and images in a laptop containing lurid details of Hunter B****'s private life.

The Post claimed that the materials from the laptop indicated that Joe Biden had been compromised by his son's business dealings in Ukraine, where he was on the board of the energy firm Burisma.

Amid doubts about the authenticity of the information and briefings from US intelligence agencies that it was likely part of a Russian disinformation campaign, Facebook and Twitter introduced measures to stop the Post's story from being shared on the platforms.

But the Daily Mail said that the laptop was indeed Hunter B****'s and that it had obtained 103,000 text messages, 154,000 emails, and more than 2,000 photos from a copy of its
hard drive

The Daily Mail said the contents were verified by cyber forensics experts at Maryman & Associates, a California company that says on its website that it has 20 years of experience.

The Daily Mail said the company had matched the contents with email addresses, contents from an iPad, and an iPhone serial number connected to Hunter B****.

The Daily Mail report came days after the publication of Hunter B****'s memoir, "Beautiful Things," in which he described his struggles with drug addiction.

A spokesperson for Biden's publisher, Simon & Schuster, told Insider that Biden would not be commenting on the report.

And, it seems as if the NYT has now authenticate at least a portion of the contents of the laptop.

Question: Has anyone provided any proof that anything reportedly taken from this laptop is NOT authentic?

(Once again..... I have edited the article and the link above with "Hunter B****" because remarkably, this person's full name is forbidden here,)

What is illegal and incriminating in the materials authenticated?

You could authenticate stuff on my computer, too. I bet NYTimes could authenticate things on yours.

Have not seen one coherent list of the illegal activities found on the laptop and the specific laws that were broken.

He was actually a corporate law attorney in Delaware where Burisma was incorporated, so he wasn't actually unqualified for the nomination. That said, he shouldn't have taken it. But then, Jared and Ivanka shouldn't have become white house employees either.

Funny how Rudy was talking about these emails for a year before the laptop magically surfaced.

That is because there are none. If there had been, the FBI and DOJ would have levied charges 2 years ago.

These laptops can not be taken seriously because of the chain of custody issues. Can someone explain to me why HB would have at least 4 laptops from the same time period and how the encryption was broken? The whole premise does not make sense.

I've never been on a board, so I am clearly unqualified. But he is the opposite. Clearly qualified.

Sure, investigate them all.
I want other people to acknowledge and accept (and talk about) the fact that major US multimedia companies (Twitter and Facebook, etc.) summarily dismissed a story (and banned a paper - the Post, but still) that has been since proven true. Just the fact that it is Hunter’s laptop was not allowed to be discussed and that should be a huge deal.
I want people to make sure that we don’t allow the media to suppress or misrepresent facts and eschew accountability. I want people to think of the implications of this beyond Repubs.

I want a pony. And Machine wants collegilal compromise.

In the real world, the alt-right have overtaken so much of the Republican party and media that nonsense cannot be allowed. Twitter and Facebook wised up. Eventually.

In the real world, aka not your imaginary world of "alt-right" taking over the Republican party, the laptop and how it was handled is extremely damaging. People have no faith or confidence in the media and big tech. And now it looks clear key government officials also deliberately lied to pretend the laptop was "Russian collusion," people increasingly also have no faith or confidence in the leadership of the government. Twitter banned any discussion of the laptop for, what, two weeks, as misinformation. Be very honest with yourself: had this laptop been Donald Trump Junior's, would twitter have done the same? You and I both know the answer is no.

You'd have to be blind to not see how bad this appears to the rank and file public. But I also know it's pointless pointing this out to certain posters on DCUM

Exactly, We have 51 former intelligence officials writing a public letter claiming this was Russian disinformation. Without a shred of evidence for that claim.
Great intelligence there, geniuses.

And, people wonder why we don't trust the US intelligence agencies.

I just wonder if there was any coordination between the Biden campaign, the tech companies, the media and any of these so-called intelligence officials to ensure this story was buried.

You have no idea what classified reports they have access to and additionally the laptop was in the hands of unknown people so there wasn’t a clean chain of custody. They could plant anything on it. But please feel free to keep dreaming of wild conspiracies.

They were FORMER intelligence officers. The idea that they had access to any kind of classified reports is a bunch of crap. And, let's just say they DID have access to classified reports. That makes the entire intelligence community pretty weak since we now know the laptop and its contents are authentic.

And, you may not know that the original laptop was given to the FBI. A copy was made prior to handing it over. And, the emails and texts that have been published have been authenticated by people on the emails chains. And, don't you find it interesting that Hunter has not said that any of the photos or videos of him are not authentic?

This whole story just further erodes trust in media, our IC, and the biased tech groups.

What’s on it? You seem to know everything…

Also, as is common, Burisma is a holding company with subsidiaries that own LLCs that are majority owners of other LLCs with various partners & investors, so that each exploration project, pipeline project, etc. is a separate entity for investment, legal, financial, and liability protections. LLC gimmickry and tolls are what Delaware does. Before Hunter, Burisma had added other Western board members because they needed to show EU and US investors, lenders, and regulators that they were legitimate. HB was well-suited for that role.
