Op here.

So, what is this thread to distract from?

Inflation? Gas prices? The border crisis? Other crises happening in this country and around the world?

This is news.
For years now, we have read post after post on here about how the laptop is fake and nothing more than Russian disinformation.
And, now, after 2 years, the NYTimes is confirming it is real.
The owner of the shop where Hunter took the laptop has been demonized and discredited.
Threads have been shut down, deleted, and even the name of the president's son written in its entirety gets the dreaded "Forbidden!" message.
This is news, pp.

“Appears to come from” is not hard evidence. Also please read up on chain of custody.

Note this line: "The emails and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and the investigation.

Absolutely not.

When you’re a business owner entrusted with someone else’s property you don’t just go and give it to Rudy Giuliani.
Anonymous
what exactly is he accused of, though?

You don't know much about this story.....
The shop owner alerted the FBI and it was turned over to them first. When he heard nothing from the FBI regarding the laptop, he turned a copy over to Giuliani's lawyer.

Photos of a Delaware federal subpoena given to The Post show that both the computer and hard drive were seized by the FBI in December, after the shop’s owner says he alerted the feds to their existence.
But before turning over the gear, the shop owner says, he made a copy of the hard drive and later gave it to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert Costello.
