2025 Girls Lax WCAC + ISL Outlook

I have no idea if she yells a lot, but our coach sure does. I assumed they all did.

If you have a winning program schools will excuse a lot of behavior from coaches they wouldn’t tolerate from their own students. And then they wonder why they have culture problems.

If you can pay, you are admitted.

I don’t think most ever thought SR was a particularly tough admit.

SR is where you go if you dont get into Visi!

And most of the posts of the people who seem to love her don’t sound like they are from SR parents.

As I said earlier, I’m not a parent of a SR kid. Tell me how she coaches and what she does. This should be easy. I can tell you why Nick Saban is a good coach.

Isn’t winning your main job as a coach? What more do you want from her? Should she parent your kids too? Make sure they do their homework and go to church?

You say she wins because she recruits. Well that’s part of coaching. You think Saban was the best tactician out there? No Saban was the best recruiter out there.

Maybe the other coaches in the area should focus on recruiting

You're asking a board full of mostly parents to describe in detail why someone is a good coach in lacrosse. A sport many of them didn't even play, let alone excel at. So what are your chops, exactly, for being an expert on lacrosse coaching? This should be good.

Its not that hard to get into Stone Ridge these days.

If you win all the time people will start to complain. Ask KJ and she will tell you all about it. SR runs the dmv now.

I think they’re similar in academics, we chose SR over Visi because we’re not super conservative MAGA Catholics.

SR parent here with DD that plays lax. I’ve never seen her late for a game. Maybe a few minutes late for warmups but I don’t think that’s being discussed here. She does yell and I don’t have an issue with it. The girls listen to her.

I don’t know how she would rank against her peers as a coach. I think that would be a function of getting a team of girls who don’t play together in club to play well together in between club seasons. HS coaches largely get handed a team of girls they don’t get to completely choose.

I’ve never thought the good counsel coach was a genius but he manages to do well with his teams.

She must be off the boards for a stretch, as she hasn't had time to let us know what makes her such a great hs lacrosse coach analyst.

No other ISL school would put up with SR coaches childish behavior - none.

Agreed, but SR facilities are average in comparison. They have zero tennis courts. Pretty weak for a school whose parents all belong to country clubs.

Actually not true. Many parents don’t want to hassle with the commute down to Visi.

I am a parent too.

This year, she missed the Episcopal game. The day before her daughter fell and got stitches, so that meant miss a game 24 hours later. She also showed up 10 minutes before the Potomac game. The game Potomac smacked us around.

Last year, she went on a trip to Italy during the season with her family. Don’t worry, she’s had the captains in charge of running practice that week.

She also won the ISL both years.

Those are facts, not opinions.

So she hasn't had a problem getting to games on time. Obviously, can't make a habit of being just 10 min early but she doesn't. Whew. Thought there were problems here.

And Visi is $15k less than SR and still not worth the hassle of driving to and from Georgetown.
