its Daddy ball all over again.
One of the fathers running DC Express is a "Bullis Dad" and typically whenever a Dad is running the team, deciding personal, who plays what position, there tends to be some bias towards other players. |
How is MC Elite's 2020 Midnight (the A team)? |
| Amazing how DC Express 2021 was great for 1 year before flaming out. Now all the top players have bolted. |
Not really. It is essentially youth sports and not a professional team. Some of these postings are quite extreme. |
It is true that the top kids left after they had a great summer as one of the best in the country. Weird, but the Performance/Bethesda/Express thing was never going to work out long-term. |
| Ugh, this thread... |
| Sorry, but the Bethesda/Express/performance haters are so transparent. Which club to do you work for? Which club does your son play for? Could you be freaking out about this partnership anymore? Bethesda/Express/Performance has every chance to make it just like all the other clubs and are actually doing extremely well for a less than two year history. Tryouts were huge and many kids from other clubs have left their old teams and moved over. On teams this year there are former Crabs, Club Blue, Madlax, Next Level, MD Extreme, etc players. Players I know who didn't make the cut for A or B BLC/Express teams are now playing for Madlax, Next Level, and Club Blue teams. Everyone seems to be trying to move over - totally disproving all the naysayers, who are obviously just freaking out about this solid new partnership.. |
I happen to agree with you that Bethesda/Express/Performance has every chance to make it. Whether they will or not remains to be seen. That said, plenty of folks on the scene don't want anything to do with some of the dad coaches affiliated with that programs. Period. Kids move from year to year - this year that meant that some players moved to Express and others left Express. To say "everyone seems to be trying to move over" to Express is simply not true and the arrogance of that mindset contributes to the general distaste developing for the Express program. |
| Ok, obviously not everyone (that wasn't a literal statement), but lots. Don't get stuck in the minutiae and look at the the big picture. When multiple former Crabs, Madlax, Next Level, Club Blue, and MDX players are all moving over that can be defined as a lot. |
Until performance/express can show top d1 commitments like some of their competitors, which is the main reason to join a club, you can't say if they are doing well or not. Many families have had poor experiences with this club in the past so they need to prove they are more than just talk. |
| When you make a gross overstatement like "many families have had poor experiences with this club in the past" - you mean last year?? The partnership of BLC and Express began last year so only one year completed and Bethesda never had high school teams, so this is all new. Certainly not enough time for families to have "past poor experiences". Calm down people and get real - Rome wasn't built in a day. |
| any know why Landon is not playing in the Fall Ball League this year? |
All express is is performance with a new name. Same coaches. Which is why many can say they have had a bad experience. |
| No, not when the players are new. BLC has never gone through high school. The 2021 team was the first team in the BLC/Express partnership - kids graduated out of BLC into Express. |
And that 2021 team fell apart, right? Not sure what point you're trying to make. The failure of that team to stay together speaks volumes. |
