PVI throws some nice field parties though....

PVI and GC have some nice stadium venues. I will give them that. Stadium and field lights give greater flexibility on scheduling practices and game times. But more intimate fields like Visi, SR, etc have charm as well. I like the diversity.

Foolish for culture to bring in a new midfielder. That kid must be rock dumb to not thoroughly investigate that situation and find a school where she’d be more valuable. And a toxic situation to bring in a 27 while you have loads of 27s riding the bench. Those girls are gonna be so fake nice to her. Good luck.

So she picked Saints as a junior over other schools that are closer to her and better academically for a family reason?

She’s going to love it.

No other 27s except the two transfers will touch the field next year for SSSA.

That is true and awesome for her - she made an impact in a championship game! The point is to not undervalue a kid on limited minutes.

the girls who left for Potomac are happier and have had a better lax experience.

Too bad SSSA overlooks so much talent. Feel bad for 27s, 28s and 29s. Maybe a good lesson to transfer and look for opportunities elsewhere.

Or they stay and fight for their spot - I'm not going to besmirch any player for transferring because it's not my kid and it's none of my business. I will congratulate her though for making that decision and adding value to her team.

As many have noted high school lacrosse has little affect on recruiting, with the exception of one high school coach in the DMV. So the challenge of of getting time on the field and having a powerful advocate in recruiting may play more of an important role than high school playing time.

Each kids situation is different and we should show at a minumum a bit of respect to the choices of a family for what they believe is best for their child.

Yes but you have to be given a chance to fight for a spot first. And decisions aren’t always related to talent. The top kids will usually make their way to the field but there are usually far less than 12 of those that are the obvious choices. As for the remaining spots, plenty of kids with talent and potential get passed over for one reason or another - some may be valid reasons but many are left with no explanation whatsoever. People seeking a program for their kid may want to know this.

What a bizarre way to think about high school sports. If it’s that bad—and I doubt it is—I would find my kid a better situation. If there is no fun, no joy, what’s the point? These are teenagers. If high school is a slog, they won’t even want to play in college.

Agree that GC plays fierce. Not sure which ISL teams they play in the preseason, but if any DC-area team wants to knock them off, they will have to match or one-up their intensity. Fearlessly drawing out the fouls and cards from that staunch, but overly physical defense, is how I would coach it. Interesting take on Potomac. They have some good talent returning; depth will be the question as usual.

SSSAS needs to sustain it over the full season. That '26 class is really good. SJC returns full starting lineup, which should help them develop. Holton played some decent games; not sure who the impact players are there, but coaching seems strong. SR has some talented '28s that should get a more prominent role, but a change in style is coming for sure. Can't step back and watch UNC-bound star go.

If you don't think SR has another big dawg or dawgs you didn't watch them this year. They have a '26 BC commit that was out all season as well as several other DI '26's and will have several top tier DI commits in the '27 class including one that will be highly sought after and carry on that big dawg torch. The UNC commit will be missed but goalie will be the hardest spot to backfill. The '28 class is solid and will have an expanded roll - a deep program.

Potomac had a great '25 class and a special midfield. That group will be missed and difficult to replace. They will be good and are well coached but not as good as last year.

Saints will have a strong senior class on paper but they don't play games on paper.

SJC improved over the season but still isn't in the top tier yet as they are lacking a few big time players to drive the scoring.

Holton isn't worth talking about unless the Humphrey sisters all enrolled overnight.

As for GC it would've been great to see them play the top team in the ISL at the end of the year as they lived off of last years rep in the rankings IMO. They took a step back this year and will next year too. The WCAC didn't offer much resistance.
