Sounds like one of those "grow the game" lists where they have to include kids from Indiana, Ohio, and Arizona. Was there a "NOVA" quota like a "west of the Mississippi" quota on some of those other lists?

The Fairfax/Arlington/Alexandria publics get a set number of spots as part of the Virginia North region. There is a separate Virginia Loudoun region with a set number of slots for Loudoun County publics.

The WCAC, IAC, and MAC schools - including the Virginia privates in those leagues - are all grouped into the Potomac Region, which gets just four slots a year. Considerably harder to make All American for a player in the Potomac Region than for a player in a NoVa public. In some years, there are Under Armour All Americans who do not make US Lacrosse All American for the Potomac Region. Similar situation for the MIAA in Baltimore.

This makes sense. Thanks

Yorktown taking care of business. Battlefield next. Say what you want about public vs private but until they play each other you are just guessing. Sports are about matchups. Today Robinson was close but in the end couldn’t keep Yorktown down. Tomorrow (well Friday) Battlefield will see how they match up.

It was a great game. Double overtime is the only way to finish a game like that. I hope the finals is just as awesome. Congrats to all the boys.

Where the hell is Yorktown? PA school on a DC forum?

Yorktown HS is in Arlington, VA, a DC suburb.

Will the WCAC prove again today that they are a superior lacrosse conference over the IAC?

If PVI wins I think so. They lost a few seniors but have replaced better than some others

when did the WCAC become a superior lax conference over the IAC?

SJC was clearly the best team in the DC area last year, I don't think anyone will dispute that. But fter that, I'd put Prep, Landon and Bullis at #2, #3 and #4 respectfully. DeMatha at #5 with their win over Bullis in June but they also lost to Paul VI (PVI lost to Episcopal in the VISSA Finals and EHS was the 5th best team in the IAC this spring)

Lets not even talk about the bottom half of the WCAC as its really poor quality lacrosse.

WCAC proves it again.

Is that 2 championship wins over IAC in one year? Damn.

PVI beat Bullis who beat Prep. I know that summer means nothing. Until spring comes around. SJC is still the best team but PVI returns a lot and replaced what they lost. This event is an indicator. SJC and PVI> than Bullis and GTP potentially but overall IAC may be stronger too to bottom. Both can’t compete with the likes of Yorktown
