She's not shaking anything up. The family underwrites her life. I mean how much attention do you think she would have got if she remained with Suits?

She was pictured with Ban Ki-Moon and Justin Trudeau while on Suits.

So...a lot?

They take lots of pictures with lots of people. It doesn't mean very much.

I'd never heard of her or either Suits. The marriage definitely moved her into a very different place.

And also agree she isn't shaking up the old stodgy establishment. I don't get the impression people want the old stodgy establishment to be shaken up. They want them to be polite and discreet and to look pretty and that's it. Not to espouse any kinds of views.

Yeah, its cute. Everyone is saying she's so kind. Aside from all that, the woman she's hugging? A long time friend who first invited her to be prominent speaker of the same organization back in 2014.

Hmm what's this? The EMPRESS OF JAPAN holding a friend and telling her not to curtsy to her. Just like Meghan. Kind royals are a thing.

How petty of the Queen if true.

She and Prince Andrew are pulling everything down. This woman has everything she could want and yet she is tone deaf eith her approach. The half million dollar baby shower she flew over to attend. Flying off to see Serena after the baby (as she was supposedly struggling mind you), and so many other things.

Harry made the wrong move marrying her, and it’s now a disaster no matter how much glitter and gold you want to put on it. They should renounce the royal life and disappear. I wish Harry would have taken things slower and maybe he would have opened his eyes as to how domineering and calculating she really is.

IMHO she and Harry have done more for the monarchy and their connection to the Commonwealth (you know the 30+ countries that also have a Queen Elizabeth II) than anyone else in that family in the decades since Diana's death.

They need her. Especially with Brexit, the renegotiation of European political connections, and the fact that the UK itself needs as much trade partners as it can get.

I know that's a bit above these boards heads (and you'd rather go on about dresses), but the political and economic ramifications cannot be overstated.

https://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/top-stories/julia-gillard-on-uk-trading-with-australia-after-brexit-1-6298800

The Australia prime minister put it pretty blunt the other day:

Julia Gillard, of the Australian Labour party, was interviewed at the conference by Sky and said that China, the USA and the EU come first in the eyes of the country's trade negotiators.

"What I do know from my days as former prime minister is this: the United Kingdom is not in the sort of absolute top tier of our current trading relationships obviously," she told Sky's Kay Burley.

"China is, the US is," she continued. "We are as a nation negotiating a free trade agreement with the European Union so those discussions are under way."

Do you also think Trump has done more for America than any other president? LOL. You are hilarious.

Wait. So you think Meghan is going to be brokering trade deals?
Girl can't even get a professional looking weave with access to top stylists.
How will an American that the British people hate because she constantly whines and talks down to them, get the Brits on the same page for Brexit.
If anything she is shining a brighter light on why; with Brexit, there should be no monarchy. People will be STRUGGLING real struggles with Brexit and likely don't want to continue to fund Royals jetting off to see Elton for a weekend or for 500,000 pound dresses for a night out. All of which Meghan is so clearly throwing in the face of the hard working Brits.

Give me a call when the U.K. announces a bilateral trade deal with Pakistan six months after the visit from the Cambridges.

For those who can't count - it'll be in March 2020. But I suspect just like other Cambridge failures this will be more of a 'Broken Britain' scenario.

Important announcement today between the #UK & #Morocco on an agreement which ensures continuity in the trading & wider bilateral relationship between our two countries. #UKAfricaTrade

The BRF has nothing to do with politics. Do you really think MM had anything to do with it ?!?!?!?!

They're just used as soft diplomats whenever possible. I didn't know Charles was fluent in German, did you?"

Ties between Britain and Germany will remain close in the future, Prince Charles told an audience in Berlin, in a clear reference to ongoing uncertainty over Britain’s looming departure from the European Union.

No, I did not know he knew any German. His father is , so that makes sense. But anyone who believes MM had any influence on Morocco is a fool.

His father is Greek. His father's sisters married German Nazis.

you’re right. But there is so much intermarriage in those families! His mother was Battenberg but she’s Danish. Oh well... and I’m blonde and blue eyed, but if Were Royal, I might be from South America.

Philip isn’t ethnically Greek. His family were basically carpetbaggers.

This. His entire family isn't ethnically Greek at all. IIRC, Greece needed a King and somehow they landed on Philip's family. He claims to be Danish but there are a lot of nazis in that family. The BRF made a conscious effort to downplay their German heritage after WWI and WWII. Look at the BRF lineage - a lot of German. Even British King Edward VIII was a full-blown nazi sympathizer. QEII's father was complicit in England's handing over British citizen Jews to the nazis at the onset of WWII to try to appease the nazis. We didn't hear him protest this even though he was king, did we. I'm not a fan of MM, but I don't understand the posters who think Harry could have done better. He's a messed up person who comes from a very messed up family. MM is in no way tarnishing that family any worse than other members did just by being a self-absorbed jackass. Abolish the monarchy.
