Cambridge tour vs Sussex tour

As someone who didn't go out of the way to follow either of these tours, I will say I think Meghan's was featured more heavily in the US press as I saw clips of her speech and dancing, hugging kids etc. For Kate's tour, I heard about her hat matching Diana's and the plane malfunction.

Honestly...I think that's William and Kate's fault. They spent the first seven years of their marriage hiding out, avoiding any semblance of being full-time royals (PRE-kids especially), and their tours are just lacking.

Now they're not getting 1/3rd the media coverage of the successful brother-and-SIL they want to change that. Too little, too late.

Here is CNN touting 'Kate's first interview since joining the Royal family'. Tell me...does this look and sound like someone you're dying to get a second interview from?

Too little, too late? They're not dying. They'll continue to be in the news, now and in the future. For better or worse.

(I think it was very smart of them to hide. I wouldn't be surprised if they realize that and go back to hiding soon enough.)

They're becoming Charles and Camilla - title-wise and media-wise.

When was the last time you heard about Charles tours, his engagements?

He's the freaking PoW and I guarantee you you couldn't tell me what major countries he went to last.

It was Nigeria, Gambia, and Ghana btw. He had a huge number of activities and meetings and barely any media coverage or reporters followed him. The Caribbean tour was worse.

William's already seeing that. I'm pretty sure he noticed only 50 reporters decided to go to Pakistan. Articles state anywhere between 100-230 reporters from global countries followed Harry to South Africa.

The Prince with the media's & the world's interest has the power.

How is this the first interview since she got married? Wow. 8 years.

Meghan looks like she's trying not to cry and also not reveal too much about how hard it's been for her.

The British Royal Family needs to realize they're on the wrong side of this. If they think the backlash they got after what happened to Diana was bad...I can see all of the U.S. coming after them over this...

Do you mean the fact that she doesn't have any friends?

Is that the fault of the BRF? Is it her own?

I mean them isolating her, sanctioning attacks on her, and colluding with the press to silence/other her.

Just like they did to the former Princess of Wales.

She's 38. Not 20.

LOL How old do you think Diana was in that video? Answer: 34.

2 years away from being killed in a Paris tunnel because the BRF hated her.

Touring a failed nation that harbors known terrorists and breeds state sponsored terrorism?

Yeah, there’s a clear winner here.

Cambridges already on a warpath complaining.

No one told them to schedule their tour two weeks after Harry's and Meghan's concluded. They had an entire spring and summer (during which they took MONTHS off) to go on tour while Meghan was pregnant and post-partum.

That and they just have bad luck that their tour started the day of the Queen's Speech and opening of Parliament (notice they don't complain about that) and Boris Johnson's getting a landmark Brexit deal on the day before their tour ended.

It's not good timing, PP. Anyone can see that.

As far as impact and outreach, I think Meghan killed it. Her speeches, skilled engagements, and personal warmth went over extremely well.

+1

But I think Meghan deliberately dressed down and rewore outfits so as to avoid scrutiny on her wardrobe and its expense.

As far as the two duchesses go, Meghan comes off as by far the more accomplished, professional, and successful of the two which is weird considering Kate has been doing this for 8 years longer.

Meghan is much better at engaging with regular people and articulating her thoughts.

You know what I want? Some reporter SOMEWHERE to legitimately question why a 12-year-old is a better princess/speaker than Kate. Not even duchess-to-duchesss.

Here is 12-year-old Infanta of Spain giving a speech today.

Here is 38-year-old Kate doing the same thing yesterday.

Kate is an empty headed vessel for birthing babies. That's it. That's all you can expect out of her.

The "empty headed vessel for birthing babies" is going to be queen one day. You must be thrilled.
