35% cuts to contracts is the current instruction. Spouse’s office has been ordered to submit justifications for all their contractors.

Thank you. Do you know what contracts are on the chopping block?

Sorry, I don’t know if this is across the board or specific.

No need to actually know what offices or people do. No need for a plan or people in place actually qualified to answer questions on what happens next…(just in case we had any doubt)

Exactly this. It’s causing so much chaos. The HHS Doge did this practically blindfolded and they don’t care. And it’s insane that Congress isn’t having a fit. Many of the things that were randomly cut are important to Republicans too. They have no idea the damage that has been done to HHS.

FDA/Center for Tobacco Products (CTP)/ Entire division gone
CDC Freedom of Information Act Office. Entire team

If we were at war and a foreign enemy had taken over our government, they would not close programs like these. Think about that.

Well, it sure feels like that’s what is happening.

Really wish there was clear guidance if the RIFs are done or if more are to come. Conflicting info on Reddit and everywhere else.

Agree. They probably love the uncertainty for staff though bc it adds to our trauma which is the point.

"NIH/national Institute on Aging" is NOT eliminated at all.

May have just been some offices within it. At any rate, they cut the management offices, FOIA offices, comms offices, HR offices, and procurement offices in most agencies, so its going to be hard for remaining staff to get anything done. And if there are contractors, it will be hard to do any renewals, procurements, extensions, mods, etc. without enough staff to process anything, so its not like the private sector can pick up the slack. Unless the plan is to get rid of the FAR.

ACF is totally gone? What happens to their functions and task; just wow.

NIOSH is completely gutted. Basically free for all on employee safety at this point. People will be paying for this decades down the line when they develop unnecessary cancers and illnesses from toxic exposures.

So it is the day after and so depressing. Yesterday there was adrenaline and news. Today spouse is sleeping and will get up and start searching. This was a career a passion not just a job. Going from a hundred miles a minute to nothing.

Leidos Biomedical Research, which operates the NCI Frederick lab got a 35% cut.

Question about years of service added to RIF. Can any employment attorneys confirm if this is legitimate. It says years of service are added for performance ratings. Can this be used for the MRA plus 10 calculation?

This is pretty scary.

No. The reviewers are intact and so are the OSEL scientists.

The list, which may be inaccurate, says the whole division, or just the managers of this division- which also makes no sense. The managers of the reviewers are pretty important.

No, this only affects your RIF standing. Not an employment attorney but just know this.
