This is what leadership looks like.

+1 can’t believe that Columbia had more decency than the US right now. Truly sobering (and terrifying)

That's pretty racist

Based on their president? Versus ours?

Based on the pp being surprised by Colombia's "decency". That's racist.

I said that because of who their president is. We’re supposed to be the leader of the free world. Wrt human rights. I’m not sure that’s racist, but I hear you.

Lost what exactly? This is exactly what we voted for and I love this.

Wrong. Come the LEGAL way. You love to leave out that part every time for some reason.

That is implied. We don’t deport legal residents as long as they are following the rules.

He also directs Colombia's foreign trade minister to explore other countries to export to, and promises to support local exporters hurt by US tariffs.

The trade wars have begun.

So what?

Colombia exports about 27% of its goods to the US. The US exports about 1% of its goods to Colombia.

Tariff away.

You really aren’t afraid of isolationism? PP is right that China is going to pick up the rope.

People go on to Amazon and go to Safeway and have NO IDEA how international trade, diplomacy, and economics work. They think America can just exist as an island unto itself and the rest of the world is beholden to us just because. It's mind boggling.

Actually, with respect to the US relative to almost all other countries, trade is a tiny part of the economy. We are very insulated from trade disruptions in the US, despite being one of the original pushers of the current globalized system.

Yeah? We just manufacture most things in the US yes? Grow everything too?

For what? They are criminals! They need to go back and their countries need to repatriate them. What don’t you understand? You want these illegal criminals here? Where is your humanity to their victims?????

It’s going to be much easier for administration to isolate country economically than they think. Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico won’t need much encouragement to throw their lot in with Xi and much of Europe may not be far behind.

China expanded its influence greatly over the last four years.

Nope. The first Trump term started it all

Following American immigration law isn’t undignified and inhumane? How?

I hope Trump puts a 50% tax on all funds sent to Colombia for at least the next 6 months as an FU and lesson to not disrespect the US again.

More like gained some dignity and humanity for neighborhoods being taken over by illegal criminal gangs.

Those kids and family don't have to live in fear.

Same. This tariff war will hurt Colombia way more than us. And criminals kicked out on their a$$. This is beautiful.

And please spare me the dignity BS. They lost any respect when they came here illegally and broke many other laws. You don't get much dignity after that..

Are you dumb? Do you really think China hadn't made any effort to expand its influence before 2017? You can't be that stupid.

Well, I am not a trumpet, so most definitely not stupid
