Time for reflection as a dem?

Dems need to aggressively market themselves online. We also need some rich guy to set up an entertainment site that goes after the uneducated but spoon feeds them liberal news. Sneak the vegetables in (real news) with the sugar (crap entertainment).

Brother, please. Dems had no idea Biden had lost his marbles with their selective news consumption.

In the past few years read a lot of of attacks on “straight white males” from the left. Guess who got sick of it and went and voted with Trump? So these attacks and closemindedness are not working. We need to unite and come together and recognize that we can be different, have different opinions and still be in one single party rather than divided.

That is 100% the issue. Dems simply dismiss opinions/beliefs because it doesn't jive with theirs - that's the problem. With certain things there is no right/wrong. But Dems have made a blanket stance on all of their political and social issues - they drew the line in the sand. Well guess what, the majority of the people voted to erase that line in the sand.

This truly MAGA/GOP projection at its finest. The party of violence and vengeance claiming it’s the Dems who won’t compromise. It’s your guy that makes this about “winning” and says compromise is for the weak.

Get back to us when your opinions are based on something that can be agreed upon and verified. If you are going to start with obvious lies and propaganda for the basis of your opinion there is no common ground.

Husband who voted for Trump here, happy to explain why. Not a racist, happily married, pro-choice to a point (about 20 weeks.) I don’t like him, but Harris was a horrible candidate leading a party with no ideas. The things I care about are foreign wars (we have draft age sons), the federal debt destroying everything we’ve saved for thirty years, crime (we live downtown, it’s bad), and illegal immigration. I also want the U.S. to be competitive, and while I wish Musk wouldn’t tweet, I think he’s the most dynamic American alive. I think RFK’s a dolt. So, I voted for the candidate who could actually articulate and defend the positions I found important, you know, democracy. I was horrified by January 6 but I was also horrified by the anti-democratic lawfare, lying, and media capture we have endured for the past four years by the censorious left. I think that our democracy and institutions will hold up just fine and in four years we will be debating Vance / Newsom or something. At that point, hopefully the Dems have found some actual issues to run on. Pro tip: continuing to call all Trump voters racists and Nazis is probably not going to win a lot of elections.

+ a million. Great comment.

Nah. Just another post where a voter tells us they are voting based on GOP propaganda.

That is the real story. The GOp is simply better at lying and fear mongering.

The GOP is def much better at lying and fear mongering. But at the same time the Dems are awful on the culture war stuff. The majority of Americans do not want to have a teacher explaining to their 5 year old what trans is, do not want to encourage illegal immigration, and do not want to worry about being cancelled over microaggressions. Dems will have to face these facts if they want to appeal more broadly.

And I would counter by saying that it was the GOP propaganda that pushed these ideas to the forefront and exaggerated them GREATLY to achieve their fear mongering. The GOP is the real source of the culture wars because it’s good for their business.

Only an ignorant person thinks the vanishingly small number of trans people in this country is a cause for national concern. GOP attacks a vulnerable group so they can claim they will address a nonexistent problem. GOP could have addressed immigration a long time ago but it’s a winning wedge issue for them. Nothing works like stoking the xenophobia, amirite?

There are real serious problems out there the GOP doesn’t want you to notice they are causing or ignoring. So they distract you with culture wars.

Of course yes. But the left played right into their hands by making unpopular issues front and center.

The far left does this. I don’t see it in Biden and Harris. I’m a democrat and don’t care about trans issues one way or the other. It’s such a small thing.

Rather than being earnest about solving the problem he prolonged it and used it as a wedge issue for purely partisan purposes.

Can you show me where I'm wrong, or did you just not know about any of this?

Biden took a host of actions on Day 1 to increase illegal immigration. That "border bill" would have rewarded illegals with a legal status and was in no way a solution. Biden could have revoked his Day 1 acts at any time and chose not to. Everyone knows Dems want unlimited illegal immigration into the US. They present no limiting principle and punish no one for violating this nation's laws and sovereignty.

Inflation is a bigger issue, but it's linked to illegal immigration because the aliens are getting checks without commensurate economic production. More money chasing the same good yields higher prices. Neither elected Republicans, who also favor illegal immigration, nor Democrats will tell the truth. The really sad part is the media cannot help but lie at every opportunity, so it also will not tell the truth about the consequences of illegal immigration.

Trump is a dumb pig. The fact he was the best candidate reflects how far the US has fallen.

Dems are still struggling to understand how Biden magically got 15,000,000 more votes than Obama and how Harris magically got 15,000,000 fewer votes than Biden. The media has insulated them from the truth for far too long.

No we aren’t. We’ve come to the point where a majority want a strong man instead of the truth/reality. Read your history books. Nothing new. All this other stuff is BS.

The American working and middle class are going to have to be crushed by Trump. Dems tried to prevent it but they didn’t want it. They wanted the conman. There isn’t anything Dems could do. The right wing media and the conservatives painted liberals as pro-Palestine, pro-woke and other things that are fringe Twitter things. Dems couldn’t seem to change their minds. Oh well, enjoy the crushing poverty and dwindling social safety net!

+1 Dems lost because they weren't able to control the narrative with so many turning to alternate sources of media. It has opened many people's eyes to the widespread corruption and lies. If Harris had won they would have gone after Twitter and tried to suppress speech from dissenting sources.

Honey, that's what you said in 2016 and what we all see happen was, well, quite different

Republicans need to realize that Trump didn’t get more popular since 2020. His base stayed the same.

There were a tremendous number of 2020 Dem voters that sat out of this race. Sitting out is not an endorsement of Trump’s policies. It’s also not an endorsement of Dem polices.

Dems don’t need to look at Republican issues to figure out where they went wrong. They need to figure out why so many prior Biden supporters didn’t vote at all.

For the PP mentioning Wisconsin, I don’t think it was split tickets. I think they voted for Baldwin and not Harris. That’s a huge issue and I agree with another PP that inflation, though not Biden’s fault, was a huge factor.

But Trump supporters need to stop gloating and think this election signaled support for his non-existent policies. It signaled that the Dems need to focus on issues that impact the 15M people who voted for Biden, but didn’t vote for Trump or Harris.

So you admit that the only way to the White House is to lie to the American people. That’s what they want. They just said so.

Spare me the rest of your Bs.

Biden's history. Trump is going to be a mess.
