I called the cops, and they shooed him along and said that he has family in the area but refuses care. They (MPD) give him clothing sometimes. He was clearly always on the verge of attacking someone. What are we supposed to do?

My husband would’ve waited til dark, put on a gray hoodie and a mask, grabbed a baseball bat, and beaten the teeth out of that guy’s head and probably broken at least one of his hands. Along with a warning that if he was ever on that block again he’d be killed and put in a dumpster.

That’s my pyscho hubby and I LOVE him for it.

Begs the question where were the men in the area? No one saw this happening and intervened. Shame on any grown, able bodied man who was in the area at the time and didn’t engage this POS when he was beating women and sexually abusing kids. WTF?!!!!

Take back the previous post after seeing Ring video. Thank God there were some working class POC men there who intervened and not white dudes in half zip Patagonia sweaters.

Only way the hipster gets involved is if the assailant was also parked in a bike lane. Then, it’s go time.

WTH with these kind of statements?

They’re true statements. White men are too scared of being called racists if they intervene against a criminal with skin darker than theirs. That’s why no “white dudes in half zip Patagonia sweaters” got involved.

In all fairness the average nebbish, UMC DC white guy who fits this description wouldn’t do anything if a white guy committed this crime either. They’re conditioned to look down and pretend nothings happening in violent situations like this.

If some construction workers from Dundalk saw this happening it would be another story.

I don't believe that -- especially not with toddlers screaming in the background. Some guys (Black) threatened me (also Black) to try to take my dog and the white guys on the street in Bloomingdale stepped up.

That's good. I'm really glad people are showing up for one another. And I forgot about the dognapping wave. What kind of sicko takes someone's dog???

I don't believe it either. We have some good white dudes in the neighborhood. Once I (non-white btw) was out on the porch with a neighbor when a crazy addict pulled out his d*** and masturbated at us (in Bloomingdale but yet another guy) and her white husband came out with a bat and chased him away.

The video made me sick.

This guy doesn’t need “support,” he needs to be permanently separated from society.

If you are defending him, please pick him up and keep him at your house. You can support him.

That’s not a GFM to pay for the specific teachers involved to pay medical bills. That is a GFM where the money goes directly to the director of PS who apparently will then split it evenly among all PS staff. It discloses that in the description.

My toddler goes to PS Bloomingdale and was present for the attack. Two teachers went to the hospital, but others were sexually assaulted by this individual as well. All of the teachers are understandably traumatized, and as a parent of one of these kids (he seems to be ok, thankfully) I can't express how grateful I am to these caregivers.

Also, for other commenters in this thread: Parker's office has been incredibly responsive and facilitated a ton of help for the parents. I think he would probably re-word his initial statement given the chance, but that was posted very soon after incident. He issued a follow-up statement later that clarified his office is working to ensure this guy is charged and not immediately released, which may very well have happened if he hadn't gotten involved and brought a lot of press attention.

NO - there is NO excuse for his initial statement. And it’s disgusting that you would still be wooed by such BS given the fact that your own child attends the school. Will you be so accommodating if the next time the guy enters the schools and hurts a kid or worse brings a weapon when he does it?

How do you think the teachers at the school would feel if they knew that you as a parent were happy to not hold elected officials accountable bc it doesn’t fit in with your personal liberal narrative?

People like you are the problem! And are the answer to “who keeps electing these idiots ?”

The D.C. Council has the ability to hold hearings about the USAO. They did this when they thought Jessie Liu was prosecuting too few hate crimes, and successfully got her to increase the prosecution of hate crimes. The thing is, all prosecutions were down - but the Council specifically said they were only interested in looking at hate crimes, and ignored violent assaults and shootings. The title of the hearing was "Hate Crimes in the District of Columbia and the Failure to Prosecute by the Office of the United States Attorney." No effort on any other crimes, even as prosecution rates got much worse in the years since.

I don't know why residents make so many excuses for the Council. But Council apologism is a huge part of the problem.

The hearing that Jessica Liu did not attend and that the Council had no power to force her to attend?

I thought you people hate “performative BS”?

Wowza. Yeah, he's going to have to roll that statement back to the beginning of time.

Seriously this is the only sane response.

STFU about supports. Any person committing a heinous act can claim to be mentally ill (bc what same person would do this?) He needs to be away from society, I couldn't care less what happens to him.

Anonymous wrote:The MPD doesn't care and the USAO keeps letting criminals go free. The voters of DC have no blame to bare on this - we can't make cops do their jobs (short of making example of them) and the DC USAO has been refusing to prosecute for the last 7 years.

There was just an election in Ward 3 between a Democrat who said crime was a major concern and that Ward 3 should have the same access to programs like universal Pre-K, and another Democrat who tries to completely ignore any discussion of crime and says his main focus is helping people who don’t live in Ward 3. The voters chose the latter.

What does that have to do with USAO letting criminals go free willy-nilly for the last 8 years? We don't elect the USAO or the prosecutors in that office.

It seems to me that the USAO has an agenda of making DC residents miserable at the hand of criminals.

And don't even get me started on the MPD, most of whom cash a paycheck and run back to MD, WV, PA or wherever they live and don't do their jobs. Half the time they won't even show up.

Oh you’re so right PP; here is a clap-back at you.

Yes PP, under the exclusive control of the Biden administration, the current USAO is conspiring to make “ DC residents miserable at the hand of criminals.”

Yes PP, you alone figured out Biden’s nefarious plot!

Congratulations PP: you are the biggest idiot on DCUM.
