What happens if FCPS isn't staffed by the first day of school?

I’ve heard nothing. Even more jobs opened since then so applying for these as well.

Feel like experimenting and applying for custodial and IA jobs just to see if I get a response.

A school-based person who was in the process to possibly get a central office job was told that pretty much all hiring that’s not directly instructional is on the back burner right now.

I'm a PP who posted about working with HR for five weeks and nothing yet. I'm going into a school front office position and last Friday I came to the mindset on my own that teachers will come first in the hierarchy of hiring. I'm back to my original thought process that I won't be starting until after Labor Day. At least that takes some of the anxiety off me. On another thread regarding substitutes someone quoted like 200 openings in the County for unfilled positions looking for subs right now. Hopefully the admin positions won't have to wait until those openings are filled before we are hired!

How do you know this? My child's school has a few new staff members but I have no idea how much experience they have.

They don’t know that. They’re making some guesses or they’re being contrarian on purpose.

Gatehouse is this you

LOL

Not sure why you're laughing. I'm friends with two teachers at the school and this is confirmed. There are open IA positions, but that's it.

Nope, just because a cynic doesn't make what I'm saying false. I know because they introduced the new teachers with info about their background. Our school has always done this, I guess yours and PPs don't. We also have a couple teachers in our neighborhood who have confirmed. This year is much better than last year. Last year, we had a resident teacher who quit a few months in.

FCPS definitely had fewer resignations last year than the year before.

This. They should be the first ones in. They do not work with students and there are at least 100 of them.

They do absolutely nothing, so this should become part of the 24-25 SY requirement.
