At least they'd never wear anything in front of you, since you'd judge them for it. The whole reason Pride month/parades etc. exists is because of centuries of oppression of gay people. Not just oppression but imprisonment and more. Legalized oppression and discrimination and even execution in certain countries. And a reaction to that is the assertion of their right to exist. "We here, we're queer, get used to it." It's a way of saying they are not going to hide anymore. Straight people who don't like it have no one to blame but themselves for their mistreatment of the gay community over most of human history. |
Most people had no issues with gay people and fully supported their rights until the TQ latched onto the LGB and there was a big shift in the direction of the movement. Now nearly 20% of Gen Z identity as LGBQT which is unheard of in earlier generations. Transgender people used to be extremely rare but it has sky rocketed over the past 5 years especially among teenage girls. You have to be an idiot to believe there is no social contagion going on. Males are now competing in women's sports and winning women's awards, ridiculous sayings like uterus havers, pronouns in bios. Companies are creating LGBQT merchandise geared specifically for kids including babies and parents are sick of their kids constantly being exposed to this stuff. There are plenty of gay people who are fed up with what has happened to their community as well with some suggesting the LGB separate from the TQ. When the pendulum swings too far in one direction it will inevitably swing back the other way. |
Yeah, no. Gay person here. Mainstream culture has only been accepting of gays and lesbians in the last decade. Most of my gay friends, especially ones older than me, remember all too well of the discrimination and prejudice they experienced in the 80, 90s and early 2000's. Seeing this same type of discrimination against transgendered people reminds us all that the homophobia from the past has never truly gone away. Please stop patronizing us gay people, especially now that it's socially acceptable to accept us, and insinuate that we are not in favor of trans rights. If anything, we realize that if trans people are ostracized and society accepts it, gay people will be next. |
Okay, when Target starts selling t-shirts that say things like "little girls need more gunz!" and "a gun a day keeps the liberals away" then your post will make sense. But you're proving our point. Some things are so fringe, like buying an arsenal and then displaying it on your deck like a collection of rare marbles, that normal people dismiss it as demented. They don't buy t-shirts about it. And stop comparing this to being gay. 99.9% of gay parents likely aren't in the market for satanic trans activist themed children's gear. It's just not normal. The fact that you think that this = a normal day in a gay life is borderline homophobic. Gay people aren't this weird. |
But are you concerned that there isn't enough satanic trans apparel in the market to make satanic trans people feel accepted? We are talking about a niche here. |
Except that no one cares…? Everyone *is* used to it. LGBT people are mainstream now. Really weird that you think otherwise. And btw, this is the US - not “other countries.” |
LGBT people are so mainstream that republicans can still say this about them: https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2023/05/gop-lawmaker-calls-lgbtq-community-a-disease-says-its-contagious/ |
Oh my god, the clothes at Target are for attending a Pride event! I’m going to assume you have no idea what your family members wear to Pride events because you probably don’t go to them with them. Sometimes people wear Pride clothes outside of these events but not normally. |
There is no reason to even bring kids into it. The designer did that |
I shouldn’t have to. It’s none of your business. My friend knew that and still punishes me, because she’s leftist and believes my ‘responsibility’ it to protect others, even if it kills me. That’s about as tyrannical as it gets. |
It’s we salty evangelicals that are the problem ![]() |
Furthermore Rs post people who are in media, politics, etc. I see posts all the time from some random 20 year old person named something like ‘marla3872’ who is just some random chick, and I’m supposed to take her opinion as gold. |
Someone who collects could lay out their collection of anything like this and it wouldn’t mean they were violent. Someone could lay out a collection of large crystals for instance. Each large rock could kill on its own but without a person helping that out, it won’t. |
I don't know, Rs - I still think your candidates are way too focused on Twitter discourse and not nearly enough on what normal people care about.
Weirdly, the exception is Trump. This isn't my observation but I agree with it - he drives online discourse while people like Meatball are just constantly reacting to online discourse. I loathe Trump and hope to gd that neither he nor Meatball become president - but I think he is much better at reading the room than your other guys right now. But please, keep talking about Satanists invading Target. It's a very normal thing, and I'm sure won't lead to a bunch of maniacs showing up with guns demanding to see the pedophile ring in the basement. |
