White people had all of the money. If they didn’t tax businesses because they were owned by whites then there wouldn’t have been a tax base.

The county sold land for $15 to build a whites only pool. Then, apparently, under assessed this land for decades. Seems like text book structural racism.

For a supposedly progressive pool, PG Pool is shockingly unaware of racism. Sheesh

So if the pool’s taxes go up, who should pay? All the members of the pool or only the white ones? Why should AA families have to pay higher membership fees for this racism?

You missed the point. There is a legitimate concern about this pools racist past and its current waitlist. That is not the issue.

The issue is why this pool has a crazy low assessed value, which tends to impact yearly taxes owed.

Also, I’m not on the waitlist so all the PG Pool trolls and can chill out on that other irrelevant point!

Why not fix up your crummy county first? PG Pool is the only think making the area look nice.

Please share the last time you stepped into our county. I’ll wait.

Last time? When I drove to the private pool that you are waiting 10+ years to desperately join. lol

It’s odd that you can’t find a pool that’s not in a “crummy county” to join.

Lots of people from the Hill belong to that pool. I don’t think there are any private pools in DC, so PG pool and Cheverly are where people go from the Hill.

Those of us living on the Hill live there bc the schools in PG are horror shows. Why not fix your schools instead of policing a private pool? Geese, leave us alone!

Some people were smart enough to join before there was a waitlist. Suck it up.

We weren’t smart; we were just lucky with our timing. The PGP is nice but there are plenty of other good places. Try Adelphi, Cheverly or Bowie.

Try paying your taxes. PG Pool is a deadbeat.

Don’t you also complain about suburban drivers in DC?

No, you don't want to live in PG because you're racist.

Ya know that people of color are PG Pool members?

The property should be revalued at a fair market assessment.

Have you reviewed SDAT and compared all private county pools' assessments? Including those in gated communities?

Would be interested to see here instead of just repeating same old line.

(I am not a member nor on the waitlist)

Nobody cares about any pool other than PGP. It is completely unhinged, and driven by the insanely long waitlist.

The Nancy Drews have reported the situation to the tax authorities, but I doubt that anything will stop criticism and accusations against the pool and its membership.

I'm sure it's not just PG Pool that's under assessed. With that said, if this crappy racist pool isn't paying their taxes, and someone finds out, they need to start paying.

We'll do that as soon as every MD deadbeat driver has paid all their DC speeding tickets.
