Anonymous
There's a guy on listserv who made some signs to protest this pool last year.

How does that make sense? Locals have lived there longer than non locals so they would naturally have a better position in the waiting list.

Not if you explicitly exclude black people, which this pool did for a long time.

Are you black? The loudest voices in this PG Pool discriminates it’s ironically the white people who don’t understand it’s a private pool with a waitlist.

Yes. Not the first poster. I live in MoCo now. I remember my father was turned away from this pool back in the 1970s. We never felt comfortable joining this segregated pool when it was open to us.

Of course, completely understandable. But I’d wager you aren’t behind the numerous threads in here about the PG Pool.

Thanks for your understanding. I am not behind them but that doesn't mean these threads aren't representing very real concerns by the community.

Yes. The wait list is open to the public. Anyone can join. It currently does not discriminate in any way.

The pool is located at the meeting point of three jurisdictions: DC, PG and Montgomery county, just blocks away from the border of each. Thus it draws people from all over.

PG Pool is the epitome of hypocritical white, privileged, progressives. It's really gross.

Yes, it’s sort of a weird anti-country club country club. But they aren’t doing anything illegal. Anyone can join.

So what do you propose as the most equitable way to manage membership other than open to anyone? And, I assume you think all pools operating in the manner of PG pool are wrong?

People in PG County should be thanking us for saving this pool from bankruptcy.

There is zero chance you’ve been on the daleview list for 10 years. Zero.
