Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
She served as an interim principal at the middle school level this year. |
She has a bio on this page: https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/rockyhillms/about/administration/ |
He retired. He opened Little Bennett and was very well-loved and respected. He had health issues during his time there so I am sure the stress of this past year was hard on him. We wish him well but are very excited to get Evan Bernstein. I could not be happier and look forward to working with him through the PTA. |
OMG that is him???? Shame, shame, shame. He caused a lot of crap at that school. But, they have a good principal now. |
I didn't know that about him--yeah that's pretty bad. I'm surprised he's a principal now. |
Great! It's pretty rare that they hire a principal from outside MCPS. |
His affair with the teacher at Dufief was several years ago. He's been an AP since then. I figured they would promote him again once the dust settled. |
| Highland View ES needs a new principal -- we had Galit Zolkower. Fingers crossed for July! |
Looks like this is him? https://parentscoalitionmc.blogspot.com/2018/11/dufief-elementary-school-principal-will.html?m=1 |
We also still need an Assistant Principal. |
I’ve never heard of them designating a “teacher in charge.” |
Someone is "Teacher in Charge" whenever administration is out of the building at a meeting or sick. I'm a staff development teacher and am the TIC when this happens at my school. Most of us have our admin certifications and are a part of the school's safety team so we're the logical person to take charge in the absence of our AP or principal. |
Thanks for explaining that |
Was she a good administrator? I had her as an instructor in my grad program years and years ago and she was a fantastic teacher! Glad to hear that she is in supervision now. In her classes, I remember she always emphasized putting the needs of students first. |
| I liked her. She has a very direct communication style that others found off-putting but I found that her direct approach was often the result of her being busy and not because of any disinterest. I agree with what you noted, all of her decisions are always framed with the students in mind which is how you want an administrator to make their decisions. I can’t think of a single after school event that I didn’t see her at, she was very involved in the school. |
