Are you saying that the position of consulting principal is new? Because, just as there are consulting teachers there are consulting principals. I wonder more about some of the names of the positions in CO. They sound like they were created for friends and not necessary. There is a brand ambassador and office of school well being among others.

There is a whole team of consulting principals that support new principals, principal interns, etc.

PP again, but I'm guessing they created the position for Anne, and maybe part of it is that there are so many new principals. It just wasn't clear that another position was open. I think they just created it out of the blue and then gave it to her.

No, in the past there have been two, and they rotate off on different cycles.

Surprised that Douglas Nelson got Wootton and jumped from AP to Principal, albeit in a part of the district with a similar demographic. Was he ever a Principal Intern?

I'm not sure, but he's been an AP for a good while. Before he was at BCC he was an AP at SSIMS, and before that he was the magnet coordinator at Clemente.

Makes me feel better as a Wootton parent and community member, thanks for the context.

I got to know Douglas Nelson when he was at Clemente. Very impressive. He'll be great at Wootton I think.

Understood. I'm sure she's solid, my comment on directors wasn't made in a positive or negative light.

My point wasn't about whether she's good or bad, it was that the fact that a person was picked quickly isn't a sign that community input was disregarded, and the fact that the person picked was exactly in line with what the community wants (which she is) points to community input being part of the decision-making. If you sat through the HVES community meeting and picked a candidate based purely on that, you'd pick her virtually every time.
