They don't have to be better. They just have to result in a board that, as a whole, isn't worse.

It wouldn't have been good to have a board full of Stephen Austins. But there definitely would have been an advantage to having one board member willing to call out the BS from the MCPS administrators/staff during their BoE briefings over the last 20 months.

I’m sorry- you don’t speak for me so please stop acting like anyone owes you anything. These parents know who they are. They are even worse because they bully others who don’t fall in line.

Agree. 100%. This was evident with the busing plan they tried to ram through. These east county progressives said that increasing diversity was the most important thing they could do for the students. 90% of the county disagrees with them when they were asked in the boundary analysis.

The alternative is typically crazy right wing nut jobs. I'd rather have a union-supporter than a racist who demands never looking at school boundaries. When there has been someone not crazy not on the Apple Ballot (Lynne Harris), I and the rest of the mainstream voted for them.

"Snake Eyes" Harris was part of the activist busing group and abused her position as MCEA president to do so. She's one of the worst. Unfortunately, as others have said, most voters don't have kids in MCPS so they aren't paying attention.
