I can’t believe these people are in charge of a multi-billion dollar school system. |
|
The Parents' Coalition is a well-known organization that has long fought MCPS and the BOE. Just so other readers understand.
|
| Looks like that org has been right about so much.. MCPS has no oversight. |
| Sure, they are a complete mess, as evidenced by the last Board meeting, but I wouldn't cite the crazy Parents' Coalition for that. |
|
LOL. Crazy blog post?
No thanks. |

Watch the video yourself. Looks like the summary above is completely accurate! |
Good for the Parents’ Coalition! Parents and students in Montgomery County desperately NEED someone to fight against the ridiculous MCPS leadership and the BOE. Thanks for posting OP. Yes, clearly MCPS is a mess. |
| Nothing new. Why do you think schools are in free fall? |
Sure, we get it. When you can’t refute the message, you try to discredit the messenger. Typical DCUM (and MCPS) tactic. What exactly in the blog post do you think is ‘crazy’? The post is just reporting what is going on. Which, admittedly, is crazy. |
This is very clearly the case. We have seen this with regards to curriculum issues (the abysmal Curriculum 2.0 fiasco), with sexual abuse scandals, and so many other issues. Nobody in any leadership positions is held accountable. And there is no oversight as to how MCPS spends (wastes!) so much taxpayer money. |
NP. +1. Hadn't seen this. You can smell the stench of corruption... In Item #11 (time 7:50), the board unanimously opposed the legislation to permitting voters to only vote for the candidate within their District and also At Large. 7:50 had a ranking proposal to permit mixed party candidates (approval voting system or ranked choice voting system) to be elected to the board. 8:06 the board also opposed including an At-Large position (non-student or teacher that the board could influence or beholden to Wolfe). Both Docca and Smondrowski mentioned that they didn't understand "what they are trying to fix", but I think Wolfe is finally getting a clue (the awkward conversation at Time: 8:04). |
Are they wrong in this case? |
No. They are not. Just that some does not like parents to get together to improve the education system for all. |
| Yes, that blog spot is biased but, are they right? A broken clock is right twice a day. |
| If the board was upright, they wouldn't oppose the voting changes to ensure parent's voices are heard. |
