The railroading of these high school kids by the media was one of the most disgusting displays I've ever seen from media personalities. It is shocking how willingly they lied in order to ruin a 17 year olds life. These people would murder if they could get away with it.

If they behave like this when we have video evidence, imagine what they do when there is no evidence to back up (or not) their stories.
This is why I am becoming increasingly skeptical of stories when "anonymous" or "unnamed" sources are quoted. I am much more likely to have more faith in pieces when information is attributed to someone.

This is a great point. I have always been inclined to give the media the benefit of the doubt, knowing that they are familiar with journalism ethics and generally trusting in the good of people. That is quickly going out the window. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing as they rushed to judgment before having hardly any of the story. Some radical could have tried an attempt on one of those teens' lives or done some other terrible thing.

I can't even reply directly to these leftists who are condemning this boy. He did absolutely nothing wrong, and in fact showed more maturity then the Native American taunting him. Now I'm reading about suggestions about expulsion and death threats?

Even the leftists who recognize on same level that the fault lies with the adults are focusing on the white chaperones of these kids. The real fault lies with a) those black militants yelling cracker and worse, and 2) the Native American who escalated the situation.

I don't think they outright lied, they just were lacking in their investigative skills in a rush to get the story out. Social media was responsible for any bending of the truth, not mainstream media.

The mainstream media absolutely was responsible for airing a story before they had all the facts, and this story is the perfect example why. What appeared to be the case at the very beginning was not the case at all. The Indian man straight up lied about what happened, the video was selectively edited, and everyone just RAN with it. It is absolutely shameful and a large-scale failure of the media, and if anything would have happened to those boys, the media would have had blood on their hands.
