Have to disagree. The whole Biden aging thing was overblown completely. He was slowing down to be sure, definitely physically more tired and that made him stutter more and they acted like he had full on dementia. But most of the nonsense about him was overblown and pure malicious speculation on the part of the RWNJ liars. NOW we actually have a POTUS with full on dementia and they act like it's normal. There is NO COMPARISON to the damage being done by the current, aged, demented POTUS who was already unfit to serve in this office basically his entire life and who is surrounded by a corrupt and incompetent administration who refuses to follow the Constitution and observe the normal separation of powers to a slowed down Biden surrounded by competent people in the administration doing their jobs and continuing to follow the Constitution. There is NO F-in Comparison to the constant lies and propaganda from RWNJ "news" sites and channels and the other groups trying to report actual news. FFS. I'm so tired of the both sides BS. It's just not true. |

New polling data shows that it's getting increasingly embarrassing to identify as a Republican, and some Trump voters are slinking away and pretending it never happened. |
Link to the actual analysis in the article. https://www.gelliottmorris.com/p/backlash-to-trump-has-been-higher Salon is generally garbage. |
In the first year of Donald Trump’s first term as president in 2017, the share of Americans calling themselves Republicans (or independents who leaned toward the Republican Party) dropped just 2 percentage points — from 42% in 2016 to 40% by Q4 of 2017. I predict it will surprise many people to hear that the Democrats didn’t actually change their advantage in party ID much at all in Trump’s first term, expanding their advantage to +7 in 2018 from +6 in 2016. In Trump’s second term, however, the Republican Party is shedding members at a much higher pace. Gallup released its latest party identification data this week, and the numbers show Republican identification dropped from 46% in 2024 to just 40% in Q4 of 2025 — a 6-point decline, triple the 2-point drop during Trump’s first term. |
I agree to some extent but should we really need to rely on "media" to tell us Trump and Biden had no business whatsoever ever occupying The White House? Surely, we aren't this stupid and gullible. |
TY. |
So a 6-point drop in 3 months v a 2-point drop in 36ish months. Clearly I'm bad at math, but not that bad to know this isn't a positive development 9 1/2 months out from the midterms. Look, there is a floor for MAGA, so this will not drop to zero, but the floor alone will not win elections. They need the folks who raise the roof and the last 12ish months have not been promising in that regard. |
Feel free to call me a progressive minded liberal with some conservative values but if you call me a Republican or Democrat, I'm going to have a problem with you. Icky. Gross. |

Latest Economist/Yougov
Trump reaching new lows: only 37% approval & 71% of adults say the country is out of control. -27 points underwater on inflation -10 points underwater on immigration -7 points underwater on handling crime Plus, only 9% support using military force to seize Greenland. |
He has a major problem with independents. Good news. |
Trump doesn't care because he can't run for a third term. But, I don't the rest of the Rs seeking re-election should care, especially if they are from purplish areas with a lot of Independents. This kowtowing and sycophantic strategy is going to backfire on them bigly. |
