Today in a meeting, in walks someone with a bright red nose, sniffing and coughing, wiping their face with their hand. I eventually had to get up and leave as I just couldn't risk another infection. And this in a place where you don't even have to come in.

Put on a mask if you're that worried.

So you're totally fine with spreading whatever you have to unsuspecting people, even though it could have dire consequences for them or their family members?

You’re back again? Your husband’s coworkers are not responsible for your poor health.

I have no idea who you're talking about, but I'm very glad that you're in the minority here.

She was hospitalized a couple days in, but thankfully was released after four days. But thank you for making sure your seat was occupied in your office.

This is life. Wear a mask around the elderly during flu season.

Everyone else is responsible for your selfish choices, right?

I hope you get the worst case of flu this season. God speed.

Everyone is responsible for their own choices. You chose to visit an elderly person during flu season without a mask. That’s on you. Germs are everywhere.

I’m a teacher and I support this! My first year of teaching was absolutely horrible. I got everything- the flu, pink eye, HFM, bronchitis, sinus infections, stomach virus, colds, strep. I think I missed 20 days or more. I wasn’t tenured so I had to take some unpaid and I finally came in sick so I could pay my bills. It was awful.

As an HR person, I can tell you people need to be providing doctor's notes if this is the system.

The amount of sick leave abuse that goes on is well...sickening.

And people fake doctor's notes.

Yes, I work for government.

The medical system could never handle that. It is a terrible idea.

As well all know, masks have only a marginal effect on transmission risk, meaning they reduce but do not even come close to eliminating it. There is no risk of transmission if a carrier stays home. If there is no or low cost to staying home, then the obvious solution is to stay home.

What are you talking about? We absolutely know that masks are very effective against viral transmission.

Not unless its a properly fitted N95. Viruses spread like aerosol so the particles will easily leak out and spread through the air.

Hold your breath. You're unlikely to get respiratory infections if you just stop breathing.
