We planned to travel to NC last week of Aug. I am leaning toward canceling the trip.
can someone please clarify if the rule is to quarantine for 7 days or 3 days upon return with a COVID negative test for unvaccinated kids? |
It’s test three days upon return. But just go - who cares? No public safety difference being at the beach or mountains there than the beach or mountains in VA. You are just feeding the beast! |
It is both 3 and 7 days. OSSE says 3. DC health says 7 even with test. OSSE's guidelines also link to the DC Health guidelines. But also just go. |
See p. 10 of this thread for OSSE v. DC Health links. |
why would you cancel? absurd. no need for such scrupulosity. |
covid snark - mother nature is healing. *blows open mouth covid kiss* |

OSSE updated their FAQs today- https://osse.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/osse/page_content/attachments/Approved_Consolidated%20School%20FAQs_07.2.21.pdf
From this document- see #39: 39. If an individual travels to any place other than Maryland or Virginia and receives a negative COVID-19 test upon their return to the District, can they return to school? [UPDATED] Per DC Health’s Guidance for Travel, unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals who have traveled domestically to any place other than Maryland or Virginia must either (1) not attend school for 10 days after returning, or (2) not attend school until tested for COVID-19 three to five days after returning AND receive a negative COVID-19 viral test. Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals who have traveled internationally must either (1) not attend school for 10 days after returning, or (2) not attend school for seven days after returning, get tested for COVID-19 three to five days after returning, AND receive a negative COVID-19 viral test. Even if the test is negative, the individual must still not attend school for seven days. |
oh yeah put it directly in my mouth |
| Oh no |
You’ve never really run into a psychopath in real life, I’m guessing. |
| 46% of DC kids are in charters. Charters are not following this. At ours, they do lots of testing and they only quarantine if there is a positive test. No travel restrictions. |
Except that's not what DC Health says. |
| As long as bars and restaurants are open, f$&@ the kids |
osse can bite me. my elderly MIL needs regular visits in NYC and we will not be keeping my kid out of school for a single hour. |

With the OTC tests, how is anyone going to know whether you tested or not?
