Covid vaccine and menstruation

Both my 20 something girls had the Pfizer shots, on birth control, and had no issues with periods after the shot. Personally as a mom, I am more concerned about the long term effects of them taking birth control pills, eating the crappy food the FDA approves in this country, and all the toxins in everyday things we use, then I was for the vaccine.

What food does FDA approve?

He also claimed that COVID would fizzle out last year and that we wouldn't see a second wave.

There is no link between blood clots and infertility at this point. Just wild speculation that one side effect must mean there are others.

You're not listening to me. I never said he said there's such a link. You were trying to discredit him, and I was just showing that he has expertise in this area despite what you say was his title at pfizer. As for his concerns about placenta formation, he made a rational case that remains to be seen over time. My daughter can wait.

He has no expertise in vaccine research. That's not his area of study. Working at Pfizer doesn't make you a vaccine expert.

DP. Currently, arsenic and lead in baby food is just fine with the FDA. They're starting to think about changing that.

So, if I make a baby food with 100% arsenic, the FDA would approve it?

51 year old menopausal (?) woman. I had my first period in over a year (13 mos) after the second shot, and a real period at that. I will discuss with my gyn in May.

At this point I can’t even remember what it feels like to not bleed constantly. I never realized it was possible to go this long. I really just want it to end so I can finally enjoy my fully vaccinated status after this crazy year, but I feel like I’m just not getting to the hardest part personally.

I will return to the dr in a few weeks for a follow up ultrasound and I hope they will find some explanation and/or solution. Fingers crossed that this thread survives until then. This thread had really been a great comfort to me—just being able to talk about this somewhere, so thank you all!

I'm praying for you. What a crappy situation to be in after trying to protect yourself and others by being vaccinated.

Thank you, I appreciate that. And I want to be clear that I don’t know if I’ll ever be 100% certain that this was cause by the vaccine. I have scoured the internet up and down, and I guess this is something that can just happen out of the blue. With the timing of it, it’s just hard for me to separate the two events. If they find something in there that explains this, believe me, I will sing it from the rooftop.

DP. I hope the Provera stops it for you. This happened to me after a TBI and injury. It does just happen and it can be a total mystery. But hormones are usually to blame—have you had a uterine biopsy though? Your OB should have done one by now.

No biopsy yet, dr. said she thought I was too young (ha, always nice to hear at 44), but I’m assuming that will be next step if it won’t stop and they can’t find anything else. Just curious, how did your episode resolve? Did it just stop eventually, or what did you have to do?

Birth control keeps cycles regulated, so it’s no surprise they didn’t experience any of this, same as the trial participants who were all on hormonal bc would have been less likely to

They are now studying menstrual cycle issues after the shot I read. Def things going on!

Oh my God you can’t be this uninformed. You know FDA regulates our food supply?

So? This happens.

My period was 5 days early after my first Pfizer shot. Unusual for me since I’m very regular. I also had heavier than normal bleeding but it wasn’t any longer than usual. I’m 47.
