Living with other women will affect your cycle. Stress is one of the biggest causes of cycle disruption. Many medications also have an effect.

It's temporary although I appreciate not pleasant.

While that may be true for some, it’s absurd to just discount people’s experiences with that. You are talking about people who are in menopause or have birth control that has stopped their periods for years or who have been like clockwork for years and all experienced periods shortly after the vaccine. I’m a biglaw partner who works 70 hours per week and have for over ten years and was bedridden for months and hospitalized for a week with swine flu in 2010 yet through it all, I have never once been even a day late for my period, with the exception of being pregnant. I even breastfed for two years and got my period back at 6 weeks postpartum and from then got my period literally to the day like clockwork throughout breastfeeding. I did not have any other side effects from the first vaccine and also happened to be on vacation. To say it is impossible that stress is to blame would be an understatement of the year

Different stressors have different effects on us. I am former military and encountered a lot of stress to say the least. Never had irregular periods. Some weird family stuff happened a couple yrs ago and bam, period was 10 days late for the first time ever in my life. The family stuff didn’t seem all that stressful and certainly not a a level I haven’t experienced, but I can’t think of anything else that would have caused me to be so late. This stuff happens though. Ask any OB. I called mine bc I was worried and the nurse told me unless it has been over 45 days since last period or over 3 months of irregularity, that it is considered just a normal variance

This is interesting. I have the Mirena and haven't had a period in 4 years. I just got my 2nd shot. I wonder if I will get a period or something.

Does anyone realize how absurd it is to dismiss female’s personal accounts and beliefs about their body as erroneous or due to something else?! I’ve never seen people do this with accounts about fatigue or headaches from the vaccine and those things happen normally at an exponentially greater rate for other reasons than irregular periods when not prone to them.

I got my period two days earlier and it was slightly heavier than usual. It has come once two days early before so if I hadn’t had a shot I would have thought it was normal.

After first shot my period came a few days early, started out immediate heavy bleeding instead of my usual two day spotting, but I had fewer cramps.

I've had some unusual side effects related to the rare form of CKD that I have. I'll tell my nephrologist at my next appointment. Information is good, more information is better. Vaccine side effects are real. Are they a problem? No, not exactly. But they're not somatic.

My first period after my second dose was about a week late. The following two came right on time.

Why is this a big deal?

I had the same issue when my grandmother died, both times I had major surgery my period started early when it wasn’t due yet, and it was about three weeks late in 2018 when I had flu A. It’s not unusual to have a strange cycle when your body is under stress or your immune system is busy working on something else.

Having a strange cycle or two means absolutely nothing in terms of your general health or fertility. I can see why it’s surprising for some, but I don’t understand why we need to keep starting discussions about it. It’s expected. It’s normal. It’s harmless. Move on.

I feel the same way about the numerous other threads about the very predictable, to-be-expected side effects. So you know what I do? I ignore them. And I don’t comment on them. Works great.
