This makes no sense. The vast majority of skinny women aren’t jealous of larger women. You’ve got it backwards.

where are you getting your numbers fom? There are several examples in this thread of skinny women being so threatened that they lash out and call fat women names. Sounds like jealousy to me.

Umm I don’t need to check numbers. Everyone knows what society prefers. I’m not making a judgment one way or another, but skinny is the objective preference, and not just in our country either. It’s silly to try and pretend the opposite is true.

Indeed. If it’s not true, then what on earth are you going to place your self worth on? I feel sorry for you. All you have is skinny.

Thank you for feeling sorry for me, but I’m not sure why you’re taking this so personally. Anyone with half a brain knows what the prevailing cultural preference is. People complain about it all the time, so I’m confused as to why you’re digging in your heels on that.

DP. Nothing is being taken personally. You seem to be ye one obsessed with others. You really have nothing else huh?

And no, there isn't one prevailing culture on beauty.

Another DP. Not one prevailing culture on beauty, but pretty sure all cultures and genders agree that morbidly obese is not a good look.

You should probably read a book. Maybe travel some. You sound ignorant as hell.

Why don’t you enlighten me? Which culture likes 350-lb men or women? Not talking muscular athletes, but those with folds of fat that get crumbs stuck in them. I had a paramedic friend say he and his colleagues labeled one patient “human couch” for all the random coins and crumbs and detritus stuck in the folds of his skin. Required 3 people to move him too.

Actually, traveling is another way to learn that a cultural preference for a healthy weight is more universal than not. Maybe you’re the one who should get out more.

Absolutely no one is arguing morbidly obese is attractive or healthy. But yes, some (perhaps most?) men - if that is the demographic we are concerned about for this particular thread - find normal to slightly overweight women preferable and attractive. I’m sorry that is triggering to you.

DP. I am thin and athletic and I have endured judgment from fatter people who assume my self worth is only based on my weight. I am thin because I have the self-discipline to get up and exercise every day and to cook healthful meals for every meal. I am mentally and physically healthy and can be my best for my family and for those around me. On the contrary, many fat people I know are that way because they smoke, have no discipline to work out (or any other life activity that is difficult—say finish college), and eat fast food or chips because they are to lazy to cook. They are miserable people but no one wants to call them out because that would be mean.

Read back through this thread again and take note of how many of the self proclaimed skinny posters are lashing out with name calling and then report back on who is most bothered. You sound mentally unwell and obsessed with others' bodies. I doubt anyone gives you a second look let alone takes the time to comment.

Nope. I'm well travelled which is how I know you're full of it.

But this thread is not about morbidly obese women. It’s about normal weight (which, I’ll admit, is not “average American”. The average American is indeed overweight.) women. Normal as in healthy, not just at the edge of underweight, BMI of 19 kind of body.
I am the poster a few pages back who has three brothers. I’ll reiterate my point. Men tend to not like obese women, but they do not think about weight nearly as much as you think they do. They don’t nickel and dime you over 120, 130, 140, 150 lbs. Not because of woke body positivity. Not because they read medical journals either. But become men are Not. That. Complicated.
Do you have a nice face?
Do you have a vagina? Do you like to use it?
Do you have boobs?
Are you not a “human couch”?
Then there you go. That’s it. The rest is sexual chemistry, compatibility, etc.

Daaaaaang for lack of anything else better to do, I read this whole thread and all I can say is there are some bitter hangry skinny ladies on this here lol. Eat a sandwich, I promise you will feel better and be kinder to those around you!
Anonymous
^^^ Because, not become.

Men are not complicated. They like a nice face and nice boobs.
Anonymous
Its weird to think you can speak for all men just because you have men in your family.

Get your fainting couches ready...

Some men even like morbidly obese women!

Ask yourself why are you so triggered by that?

Anonymous
Im betting a lot of you are ugly as hell and are grasping on to being skinny because it's all you've got. No way would you actually be bothered or give any mental energy to comparing yourself with anyone else if you were getting validation of your beauty from men.

*groan*

You don’t know squat about me or where I’ve been. And you’re so “well travelled”, yet you failed to notice how much leaner many other countries’ inhabitants are, compared to our own. No matter the country or continent I’ve visited, the people on the streets, actors, models, TV personalities, etc are all almost universally slender. I mean, the “fat American” stereotype is a stereotype for a reason!

Guess what? Some of us eat whatever we want whenever we want and are still really thin. We never even have to think about diets and portion sizes and gaining weight. Did I just blow your mind?

+1

I don’t deny that there are angry, perpetually hungry, skinny women out there. But some of us just have normal eating habits and maintain a healthy weight without all the angst. I understand this likely enrages the more overweight contingent, but oh well!

Guess what else? Some of us are normal weight and are tired of people assuming that only fat and skinny exist and nothing in between.
