Anonymous wrote:David Letterman. Surprisingly nice and kind. My brother and I saw him in a hallway at Rockefeller Center. He stopped, signed autographs and asked us about our visit. He seemed very charmed that we were siblings traveling together and signed my brother's notebook, "Be nice to your little sister."

Prince Charles. Met him twice. Polite and nice. Very patiently listened to one man's long-winded story of meeting his mother in the 1950s. Cooed over my 18th month old daughter. He took more time than his aides wanted to make sure that he greeted everyone waiting for him. (Camilla also quickly greeted the crowd, but seemed nervous and rushed in her handshakes and greetings, and didn't linger with any of us.)

JFK Jr. (sort of), at a conference. He seemed friendly in the brief moment he spent with the staff, but his aide was extremely protective and rude, so no one was allowed to actually talk to him. We were really disappointed--we were a small staff that had worked very hard to set up his visit, and we hoped for at least a handshake or a thank you. Or a marriage proposal.

Dolly Parton. AMAZING human being. Very, very tiny, and looked like an everyday version of her stage self (slightly toned down wig, makeup and dress, but still very recognizable). I met her in a doctor's waiting room and she was so friendly and outgoing. She told me she was excited to meet the doctor since he played a rare instrument and she was going to try to convince him to play on a new album. How humble is that?!

Did you ask Camilla why she broke up Diana’s marriage?

I'm sad you didn't have a good experience meeting John. He actually was a really nice guy. Quirky sense of humor and very self-effacing. I think there were a lot of times he totally didn't "get" 1) how good looking he was, and 2) why people went so gaga over him. Yes, some of his staff/friends could be protective but he also usually had a lot of crazies circling around. It doesn't excuse the aide but maybe it explains it? John himself was delightful. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back. I miss him a lot.

I have heard others speak very highly of Dolly Parton and I love your doctor's waiting room story! I love the Letterman note!

Oprah Winfrey - a complete delight. A warm, wonderful human being. The first time I met her was fleeting and we chitchatted about mundane things. She remembered them and brought them up in subsequent meetings. She is one classy lady!

PP here, it was very random w my friends and Dave Matthews. He had a tour bus, and she was kind of hanging outside of it, when he stuck his head out, pointed at her, and gestured if she wanted to come in, so she did. It was very quick and she was back out. Typical 20 something sex I guess. She didn’t have to sign anything, and just said it was kind of fast and a flurry and she doesn’t remember much. Not a big deal

Anonymous wrote:This is my most random and unbelievable one: I met Joe Pesci outside of Bethlehem Connecticut while we were both at K-Mart trying to buy the cheapest flip flops possible for our kids (his grand kids I assume).

All the shows were out of size order, and the simple little $1 ones were in with the $10 ones, which neither of us wanted, so me and Joe Pesci reorganized the dollar flip flop rack and helped each other find the right sizes.

Me “here’s a blue pair in a 6, is that good?”
Him “I guess, but let me look more and see if there’s a pink pair. I found some 7 in red is that what you need?”

Just 2 people not about to pay $10 for Kmart flip flops. It was hilarious

I think this is my favorite story of all!

My elderly aunt used to live in Jason Beghe's building in Chicago. It was when Chicago PD had a poster with him looking gruff saying something like don't f with my city. Turns out he's a real pussycat. Used to carry her groceries in from the garage. Helped her start her grill. Sent her flowers on her birthday. I finally met him and he is very warm and sweet in person. He also has two cute teen sons on whom he dotes.

Anonymous wrote:I have met quite a few celebrities because of a close friend. One of the nicest celebrities I've ever met is actually one of the nicest people I've ever met. Chris Evans. Met him shortly after Infinity War was released. So humble and nice. We are from the same area and after awhile it felt like I was talking to someone I knew as a kid vs a celebrity. I've been able to hang out with him a few other times at things and have met his brother too. They are just really great people

I am so so so so so so jealous! I would love to meet him.

Vicki Lawrence (Carol Burnet's sidekick). I was interning at an NBC affiliate and she was promoting her talk show in the 90's. We were all warned that she was difficult and that we were only to talk to her husband. True to form, she was a total diva, was totally demanding of staff and huffed out after we filmed her promotional videos. Her husband was apologetic and kind. I wasn't surprised to see that her talk show failed. You can't hide that kind of contempt behind an friendly facade. She was the opposite of the funny, nice, and goofy character she played on the Carol Burnett show.

Agreed, re JFK Jr. I used to work near him in NYC and had a fair number of lobby/elevator sightings. Always really pleasant and nice.

My inlaws are friends with Neil Gorsuch. He's been at their home for dinner and vice versa. Very nice and normal. My FIL tried to blame the Clinton's for antonin Scalia's death. Neil shot them down.

(my inlaw's are assholes, if you didn't pick up on that)
