which celebs have you met and what were they like?

Norah O’Donnell: cold as ice

Jesse Jackson: charismatic as hell

Candice Bergen: aloof and rude

Mariska Hargitay: gorgeous and very nice

Dominick Dunne: looked like a sad character out of a Charles Dickens novel

Snoop Dogg: helped a friend carry her luggage, very nice!

Drew Barrymore: hid in a bathroom trying to escape fans, seemed antsy

I've met Norah O'Donnell - she was very nice. One thing to remember about Dominick Dunne - he had a rough life and suffered some serious losses. Read about his daughter who was in Poltergeist.

Interesting story: DH knows/knew a bartender at Cafe Milano in DC. Clooney came in one night by himself. Was gracious with the few people that approached him, but basically kept to himself. Banged back about 8 gin and tonics before leaving. Didn't eat anything.

I choose not to believe this negative gossip about Clooney or Noth.

I worked with NO - interesting.... DD has had a fascinating life. His ex died of MS. He had a very troubled, sad life that he wrote about openly later!

Jerry Seinfeld -- weirdly standoffish and stiff, kept smoothing his ugly tie down over and over again

Stefanie Powers -- extremely small and fine-boned, cute personality and spoke very good French

Bill Clinton-- so ruddy-faced as to be almost Barney-hued, very tall

Sean Connery-- enormous hands and courteous to everyone

Norah O'Donnell-- officious manner and spoke needlessly loud to assert dominance in conversation

Ivana Trump-- quiet and very polite

Dianne Feinstein-- grating voice

Michael Jordan and John Stockton-- both were extremely patient and kind with kids almost jumping on top of them in their enthusiasm. They signed three autographs for me and posed for as many pictures as their handlers would allow.

These responses are a little lame! Looking for some more recent big name celebrity encounter stories - not including politicians or political press!

Agree on Norah O'Donnell.

About 30 years ago my BIL (back when he was a teenager) was working in a ski shop. Arnold Schwarzenegger walked in and casually put skis down in the ski rack. When my BIL went to get them out he couldn’t. He then pulled and pulled with both arms. Arnold apparently good-naturedly heckled him about his lack of “deltoid power.”

Ok this ages me terribly and I expect no one will know who this is, but when I was 14 I went with a friend from school to her little brother's birthday party. The kid from Kramer Vs. Kramer was there. (My friend's dad was a TV Director). This kid was a little asshole the whole time, to everyone. Asshole.

I've met Chris Noth and his family, had a decently long conversation with him once when we stayed at the same small vacation resort. He was nice enough, you could tell he didn't want to be recognized. This was about 8 years ago. His boy was cute and played with mine for a while in the pool. I barely talked with his wife, she is much younger than him, she seemed like an involved mom, and Chris was taking photos of their boy which was cute.

Eva Mendes, ran into her at a coffee shop w/her kids. Incredibly sweet and kind and, not surprisingly, the best dressed woman I'd seen in a long time.
