Political Discussion
"The jerk" may have dementia or other mental and physical issues that come with aging. |
And they have the right to vote for a destructive dictator in that condition. Someone who could get us all killed. Just great for the rest of us under 80 if there are hundreds of thousands of them headed to the polls in 2028. |
Give it up. If they were jerks before and they are jerks now, no one is obligated to put up with them no matter their age or relation. Full stop. They made their bed. If you'd like to go spend time with them, by all means... |
You appear to have been raised by them... |
I'm not the one defending abusers and victim blaming. You lost this one, sparky. Go get some sleep and recharge that pea brain to fight for the rights of jerks everywhere another day! |
| My wife's family is pure MAGA. They hate me and never speak to me. I'm glad. |

There is no obligation to put up with family smearing a get together w lies and overt oppressive ideals. Life is too short.
I would maybe have a relationship w maga parents if they didn’t talk politics but I would certainly not respect them as much. It would be difficult. If they spewed their maga garbage once- done. |
| Such drama over making s phone call to elderly parents over the holidays. Very, very sad. |

80 year old people don't vote for 80 year old candidates. They know better. Unless the 80 year old is too senile to realize who they're voting for. |
They wouldn’t keep posting if they weren’t personally affected. I’d be willing to bet that their family cut them off and they still think that they have some high ground. You can tell by their replies that they are insufferable so I don’t blame their family one bit. |
+1 They grew up in dysfunctional homes. |
Yes. I highly dislike Trump and MAGA but I also respect the choice to vote for whomever they please. |
and now they support someone who is impacting the livelihood for said kids whom they supposedly sacrificed a lot for. It makes one wonder whether those parents even respect OP's job and livelihood. My parents are immigrants, came here in the early 70s on a chain migration. They worked blue collar jobs all their lives and barely speak English. If I supported a policy that wanted to kick out people who can't speak English past a 1st grade level that would make me an awful person since it would impact my parents. This is the other way around: OP's parents support policies that are hurting their livelihood. That makes them pretty awful. -former R |

that's because Dems aren't the ones who support a criminal and are morally corrupt. I don't like a lot of Dem policies, but I do think their hearts are in the right place, if not the country's pocketbook. Sometimes the cult runs so deep that no amount of logic or reason can cut through the brainwashed pretzel thought process of a MAGA. I mean, how else can you explain Trump giving Argentina billions, allowing them to import their beef here, all while American farmers suffer, and MAGA still cheer him on? It's a cult. -former R |
