how many of us did not see close MAGA family members this holiday season?

It’s not just a difference in politics like it might’ve been 10 or 15 years ago if they are truly in a MAGA cult or in Qanon or something. We are living two different realities and it’s very stressful. We got this far as civilized humans by cooperating and being in social networks, and so when you are talking to someone who has a completely different reality than you, it is very disconcerting and psychologically damaging. talking to relatives who think Covid was a hoax and then it wasn’t even a real condition and it was just a way to get Biden elected, talking to people who have facts totally wrong about immigration or how many women are getting late term abortions, or how many women are murdering their babies after they’re born and it’s legal, it’s not right.

It’s also psychologically damaging to talk to people who seem to have no empathy and are OK with people being randomly deported or killed.

It’s not just a matter of politics or different policy opinions. It’s different realities and world views.

Thats ok we still love you and want to see you during the holidays.

In this house we believe:
Love is Love (without conditions).

You've had to make your point ad nauseam because the love is love saying does not mean that you will suffer abuse. It means that you welcome those who are persecuted for their race, religion, status, etc.

Of course this needs to be explained to you. It's a bit ironic since MAGA is the antipathy of love, kindness, or compassion.

In this house we believe:

Black lives matter (unless they voted for trump)
Science is real (unless it supports trump)
No human is illegal (unless they would vote for trump)
Women's rights are human rights (unless they used that right to vote for trump)
Love is love (unless they voted for trump)
Kindness is everything (unless the person voted for trump)

This is non-sensical.

God, you MAGA fascists are f—king stupid.

Job well done by the messaging crafters of our awful two major parties. RNC/DNC owes you a raise. This thread is all the proof you need of a successful agenda to divide and conquer the hyper-partisan sheep. So sad. Some of you I know are reasonably intelligent people and that's what makes this all the more troubling.

The American people are currently losing the war against the wealthy elites running our Federal Government.

Anyone who supports Trump at this point has no problem with racism, white supremacy, misogyny, autocracy, oligarchy, etc etc. and they’re too stupid to know what autocracy and oligarchy are. MAGA does not deserve respect or friendship. I mean, really, WHY would anyone want to be around them or associate with MAGA?

F*ck each and every one of these people who voted for Trump. I have no desire to ever socialize or do business with them again.

Anonymous wrote:Is anyone who votes for Trump considered MAGA? I am perfectly in the middle and have voted D in the past but the shocking words people have said to me for voting Trump, believe me blue is a cult too. There are extremes in both sides like OP.

People have such a sense of righteousness - oh I am so great because I hate Trump and oh you are a pos because you voted Trump. They do not have the sense to say it’s ok to agree to disagree.

One cannot have so much hate and that’s for both sides.

I voted on one issue - close the border. Are there any border crossings now? But my blue family members and friends screamed at me with fire coming out their ears. A close friend completely cut off from me. People are so extreme and unstable. They have love messages outside their homes but are so intolerant of a voting choice and generalize all who voted for Trump as evil

You are the epitome of a stupid one-issue voter who had no sense how the world actually works and that there are far more important things than your bizarro conspiracy theories. Like voting for a lying, corrupt, grifter who will destroy our democracy every chance he gets.

You suck. People like you flushed this country right down the toilet with your vote.

Where's the kindness?
Where's the compassion for those who made bad choices in life?
Where's the empathy?

Spare me. Stop using words you don't understand.

So if your husband hits you, you have to love him and take it?
So if your parent verbally abuses you, you have to just love them and take it?

Nah, dog. You crazy.

I thought you all were better people full of compassion, kindness and second chances?

and you must not have asian parents...

If you want to put up with abuse, that's your crazy choice. Functional people's choice is to separate themselves from mean and abusive. That's not lacking compassion, kindness etc. That's just smart and sane.
