Gen Z not voting and handing a win to criminal Trump

Translation: they don't know how to evaluate evidence and draw conclusions because they think there's no truth anyway. Just "likes" and "followers" and when you get more of those what you believe must be true.

I didn’t see much analysis from the older generations when schools were kept closed and young healthy people were mandated a vaccine which didn’t even prevent them from getting sick and the spread prevention was questionable

Fair point.

They need to understand that one of these 2 men WILL win no matter how much we hate the two party system, so they need to vote for the one they hate the least.

They need to understand that Trump will be so much worse than Biden with the Israel/Palestine war. I am seeing comments like “How hard is it to call for a ceasefire?” Ugh. They don’t understand how complicated this situation is and the history. They don’t understand what Biden can/can’t do.

They need to understand that, although Biden’s attempts at border control haven’t panned out as well as we would like, he is trying and republicans are blocking him. We don’t want to go back to kids in cages, separated families, and government shutdowns over Trump’s “build a wall” hissy fit.

We are preaching to the choir on dcum. The only way to reach Gen Z is on tiktok, so let’s go!

And while you’re lecturing them about what “they need to understand” what do you expect to learn? How do you expect to change? How will you address their issues?

Because lecturing isn’t a notoriously successful way of making young people do what you want.

Call it lecturing, I don’t care at this point. Go to TikTok and search these issues. The lack of understanding is astonishing. They think Biden has the authority to simply end any war by saying so.

I know that this age bracket doesn’t typically turn out to vote, but they did last time and helped Biden win. Democrats need the youth vote as the republicans need the boomers.

I mean, Democrats deprived these kids of an education for two years. This is what is typically called “natural consequences.”

You mean when Trump was president the dems over ruled him and forced the schools to close? You must be very happy they legalize drugs.

Give me a break. The entire world shut down. Schools shut down around the world. This wasn’t a democrat thing. It was a global pandemic that killed millions.

And what schools closed for 2 years? I am a teacher. My students were virtual until mid-November 2020. Then they were hybrid until mid March, and they came back full time after that. So what schools exactly did democratic legislators force to close for 2 years?

No. Beyond the first month or two when no one knew what was going on, schools remained open in Europe, Asia, and much of the world.

And please don't equate "virtual" school with real school.

Places like MCPS and DCPS were extremists. And it's cost an entire generation of kids dearly. Whether they were in kindergarten or in high school.

I do not trust progressives with the common welfare. At all. They are ideological extremists who will very enthusiastically throw kids under the bus. Not to mention most of the country that doesn't fit into their "oppressed" narrative.

Doesn't mean I care for Republicans. Think they're a##holes too. But I get the disdain for Democrats these days.

This is me, too, and I’ve seen what happened in CA.
Heck, I think vaccines are still mandatory for admission to colleges!

Only Dems could make the paradise of California lose residents.

It’s disgusting how kids are being blamed by democrats for refusing to keep a failed president in office so he can go on failing our country - and their generation - for another four years.

The distance between Tlaib and the White House is reflective of the work Biden must do to repair the relationship with a key part of his coalition. Many Arab Americans and Muslim voters who have spoken to CNN say they will not support Biden’s reelection efforts due to his unwavering support of Israel and failure to call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. But the problems go beyond that – Democratic strategists who spoke to CNN are warning that the president may struggle to find surrogates willing to take on the task of speaking to key voter groups such as Muslims, Arab Americans and angered progressives…

… “There is no possibility of repair while he is supporting an act of genocide. So, there is no reason to have communication,” said Dawud Walid, the executive director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Some Michigan voters told CNN that they would rather support a third-party candidate or Trump if it means Biden will lose in 2024.

“If it’s neck and neck, and in order to get Biden to lose it will require me to vote for Trump, then absolutely I will do that. I will do exactly that,” said Samraa Luqman, 41, a real estate agent who did not vote for Biden or Trump in the last presidential election cycle.

She added: “I never in my life thought I would say that. … They have really screwed up this time.”

Wow this is devastating. It shows Biden is so deep in with Netanyahu he would put Israel before the US.

He isn't failing the country in any way. Kids and Republicans are just dumb(?)

Why can’t Gen Z see the big picture? Are you all just crazy not to see the wall we are about to hit if Trump gets in again? He’s a dictator and a criminal. How on earth can you all stay on the sidelines and say you aren’t going to vote in the upcoming election because of X, Y, or Z? How can you dare not vote and basically hand the presidential election to Trump, which is what he’s counting on…your apathy and confusion….because you actually think he’s a better candidate and forget everything else he stands for or has done to disrupt peace, including the insurrection?

Oh, shut up. Biden is complicit in Israel’s killing tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians and he will deservedly pay a steep price in the election. It didn’t have to be this way, but he has demonstrated that he’s a senile old man and a puppet of a bunch of land-grabbing religious zealots.

And what would Trump do differently?

They’ll still vote blue. The election is a bit down the road, and they’ll remember Trump is the other option and do what’s right.

He’s failing on Gaza.

Remember when Trump moved the US embassy in Israel? You don’t. You don’t understand what that means, either.

Hoo boy the GOP thinks they got a live one with this issue!

With the GOP promising a national abortion and birth control ban I can’t believe they think they’re going to get the youth vote.

And this is the attitude which leads the Biden admin not to even meet with senior Arab-American lawmakers in Michigan. A must-win state.

The Jewish voter is going to play a huge role. I tend to vote Democrat, but cannot support Biden again. I will be taking a close look at the 3rd party candidate and might consider Kennedy. It would make me physically sick to vote for Trump, but I trust him to care about terrorism and Israel more than I trust Biden these days. That said, it will probably be quite a cold day in Hell because I never in my wildest dreams thought I would even consider supporting that deranged criminal, but I think the US has gone completely insane, so there is that.

If your #1 issue in the U.S. presidential election is Israel, you've gone a little bit insane, too.

Our youngest eligible voters are less likely to buy into the "you better vote for this candidate or else the world will end" garbage messaging we hear out of the Trump and Biden campaigns. My gut feeling tells me many of them won't vote or will vote for a 3rd party candidate just because the messaging out of the two major parties is so off putting.
