Lately there’s lots of talk about Gen Z not seeing the big picture about voting for the greater good (Democrats) due to their hang ups with a particular single voter issue, like the war in Gaza, for example.
Why can’t Gen Z see the big picture? Are you all just crazy not to see the wall we are about to hit if Trump gets in again? He’s a dictator and a criminal. How on earth can you all stay on the sidelines and say you aren’t going to vote in the upcoming election because of X, Y, or Z? How can you dare not vote and basically hand the presidential election to Trump, which is what he’s counting on…your apathy and confusion….because you actually think he’s a better candidate and forget everything else he stands for or has done to disrupt peace, including the insurrection? |
|
How is Trump a dictator? How can he be a dictator? Doesn't anyone understand how US division of power works?
As for criminality, half the charges are clearly partisan, and Biden's family was definitely doing shady grifting cash for influence. There are things about Trump I don't like and some of his behavior following 2020 was questionable, but there's a long history of Democratic histrionics that I can't take them too seriously. And maybe Z is not ad progressive as you want them to be? |
| Insurrection for you is only questionable? The insurrection killed people…how do you think it’s ok to vote for someone that tried to force results his way because he didn’t win, and it lead to killing people and threats against democracy? |
| Can’t vote from their parents basement. |
| You forget that Gen Z doesn’t read real news sources. They only believe what they see on social media…tick toc, etc. And are incapable of critical thinking. |
This is true - my Gen Z teen tells me this often. They are being fed propaganda on social media and swallowing it hook line and sinker . |
I guess you forgot about the coup attempt and the complicit GOP senators and House members, not to mention the complicit SCOTUS justices and their wives. |
| Gen Z is not going to forget about abortion, though. You all caught the car you were chasing on that one. |
Nope, we know most politicians are crooked. And Jan 6th was not what you’re claiming it was. After Summer 2020 riots, you don’t have a leg to stand on. Did they set fire to the Capitol? Smash and loot it the way “protesters” did during BLM? Were there a bunch of rapes, like in the CHOP zone? Surely you don’t even believe that 1/6 was such a big deal, you’re just excited that Republicans finally behaved poorly en masse. |
Maybe, just maybe, the party should LISTEN to what it supporters want. There are issues that some of us really despise in our own parties. When do you have a real chance to get politicians to listen to the 10-20% issues that many party supporters don’t like? |
That should the regular poster claiming that MSM (like NPR, WaPo) is right wing news very, very proud. |
| More lying! More cheating! More grifting! More selling of national security secrets! MAGA! Trump 2024! |
What the f? Gaza is a genocide. 25,000 civilians killed and 2.3 million homeless facing death by starvation. Gen Z has it right Biden and the old folks home are wrong. This is a values thing. The Democratic Party will not go along with a genocide for a Jewish state. If you don’t want Trump all you have to do is cut Israel off and a one state solution. I guess you would rather destroy US democracy vs stop the slaughter in Gaza. This is happens what Israel is more important vs the US. |
Not to take this off topic, because my GenZ kids agree to an extent, but there is more nuance here. Israel is acting in response to Oct 7. If Hamas doesn't attack, none of the events of the last three months take place. Biden is being attacked from the left for being too sympathetic to Israel and he is being attacked from the right for being too sympathetic to Palestinians. That tells me he is trying to strike the right balance. At the end of the day, the progressive GenZ'ers need to understand that whatever fault they are finding with Biden, any GOP president would be far, far worse to both Palestinians and American Arabs. |
