But overall, I don't really see the harm to the country. The people want jobs and they get jobs. So let them come, I say.

These people are paying the cartels to help them get to the border. Meanwhile, the "gotaways" are thousands and thousands. Drugs, human trafficking, etc.

Everyone talks about "immigration reform." I wish someone would explain how that can occur as long as thousands are flowing in daily--some are valid asylum seekers, but not most.

Would someone on here lay out what "immigration reform" looks like? The only thing i have seen is to give Dreamers citizenship. That is only a small piece of the problem.

DP. Everyone who seeks asylum is permitted to stay until a judge decides their case, which takes years. If we changed that, or vastly sped up the process, we wouldn’t have as many migrants/asylees here. People would be less likely to pay cartels to get them here if they were deported a week later. People would be less likely to walk to the US from Central America if they would be deported quickly.

The political parties exploit migrants for their own purposes, and I’m tired of it. I wish they f-ing fix it, or shut up about it.

The bolded part is correct, and neither side will do anything particularly meaningful.

No, dear. One side has continued to try to address it but the GOP loves firing up their idiot base.

Tell us exactly how Democrats have tried to do anything to address it. Because what we have seen in the last two years is specific actions and rhetoric to ENCOURAGE the flow of illegal migrants. Nothing Biden has done has been an effort to stop the flow. Nothing.

Maybe if you had different sources of information, you would understand why the bolded is patently false.

First, the flow is because people feel the need to flee their own countries, so the US sending money to the Triangle Area etc is an attempt to stem the flow. The Biden Administration also got Mexico to invest over a billion dollars of its money into border security: https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukraine-biden-immigration-climate-and-environment-120f8a3fc440e3b2cccce6100e65b912

Seriously, this is an issue that can and should be addressed with legislation. In 2011, the US Senate passed a bill that Obama said he would sign. Guess what happened? Then Speaker Paul Ryan refused to bring it to the House floor for a vote (that would have passed) because he wanted it as a cudgel issue for the 2012 election cycle. Fox ran wit it and it has been a wedge issue making people like you really angry for the past decade.

Ask yourself, why does the GOP continually decline problem solving to force the OP to create a thread like this? Why won't the GOP offer legislation tat actually helps people and solve problems? Why is it always on the Democrats to pass meaningful legislation, offer bills that address the debt and deficit while the GOP engages in stoking anger and divisiveness while gaslighting their supporters into believing the opposite?

Oh, FFS.
Sending more money to the triangle countries is NOT HELPING. AT ALL. We have done it for years.
And, we have people coming from over 140 countries. What are we going to do? Pay off ALL these countries?

And, the reason why the bill never saw the light of day is because ..... when part of a proposal is to grant amnesty to millions without securing our borders first, we are simply going to have millions more come.
Too bad Reagan isn't around anymore. He reportedly regretted allowing amnesty to those here illegally because Democrats reneged on their promise to secure the border.

Biden has totally f'ed up our border. And, thankfully, the Republicans have vowed - no immigration reform until the borders are secured.

What’s the end goal of the massive influx?

Wasn’t there a story about a republican operation to encourage them to come to cause a “crisis”? Wasn’t that part of the “caravan” drama around the last attempted coup/transition?

Yes - I remember this - and there were Trump associates who flew south right before it started, and the caravans were given maps and instructions and there were clear signs that the caravans were intentionally organized to maximize the humanitarian disaster aspect of it all.

I always wondered where the Biden t-shirts came from.

This is the biggest crock of $hit I have read today.

No, the cartels are organizing and mobilizing the caravans and the migrants coming over. We have testimony from CBP on this fact. And, a few years back, there was an immigration activist who organized the caravans. His name is Irineo Mujica. He is probably still active today.

An immigrant activist from Phoenix has been arrested in southern Mexico while taking part in a large caravan of several thousand migrants from Central America headed for the U.S. border.

Irineo Mujica was one of the main organizers of last spring's migrant caravan that prompted President Donald Trump to order the deployment of National Guard troops to the border.

Mujica was arrested Thursday in Ciudad Hidalgo, a town in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, after the latest caravan made up of at least 5,000 migrants from Central America illegally crossed into Mexico from Tecun Umam, Guatemala.

Trump cut off funding for the triangle countries and the exodus of refugees from there surged massively. Yet you ignore glaring causality.

Do they cross to the US or from the US to Canada?

From Canada to the US. From the tweet:

"a Border Patrol official writes that the spike is largely Mexican nationals crossing from Canada, that stations are “task saturated” responding to large groups, and it is contributing to gotaways & pedestrian/vehicle incursions."

Tell us.

Is anything in the tweet false?

Are any of these sources more to your liking?

Instead of responding with a snarky hateful comment, try using that device in your hand there to verify the information. Or, would you rather remain ignorant?

Another example, sure just pure "coincidence" I'm sure -

Trump advisor Jason Miller flies to Brazil, meets with Bolsonaro - and within days, 15,000 Haitians refugees who had been staying in Brazil are packed up, organized and sent to Del Rio, Texas with funding and transportation and other logistical arrangements for the trip.

Who is paying to fly them to Canada in order to enter the US from the north?

Do these supposed "immigrant activists" not understand that they are subjecting thousands of people to humanitarian disasters, detainment, even death?
