Teen possibly abducted from party in CA

That doesn’t pass the smell test. I question if that conversation took place as she described it. I don’t know any mother who goes to sleep when their 16 year old daughter is at some huge party — which she drove to. Not to mention the daughter would have clearly been drunk on that phone call, if she was visibly drunk at 12-12:30, per female friend who refused to ride with her.

Do we know how far the party was from her house? Presumably not very far? Her mum choosing to go to sleep rather than wait for her to arrive home is the antithesis of a loving mother.

And the 17 yo girl’s story has changed in the media? And she wants to be an actress, as in, likely to exploit this to seek fame and attention. Very, very weird. Additionally, there is also an undercurrent wondering if this could be a viral hoax. Just too many coincidences, down to the shirt and sweatshirt she was wearing.

Can you explain the hoax theory further?

I read that it was a text from daughter to mother? So harder to tell if she was drunk.

If your 16 year old daughter were 10 miles away in a rural area at a party with 200 to 300 unsupervised kids drinking and using drugs, would you just go to sleep hoping she would drive home safely? Where are the responsible adults?? Things just aren't adding up.

Unless this is typical behavior for that girl, in that neighborhood. My kid would not have been allowed to go to such an event, so, I really can't compare my behavior to that of her family.

Her mom may be very loving, but she appears to have a permissive way of parenting as well.

Sadly it appears she lives among a community where 20 30 40 year old hippy drifters just hang out around campfires with underage girls and it's seen as acceptable because... peace and love or something.

The "friend" and "boyfriend" are acting and look extremely sketchy. "Friend" has made contradictions in interviews, plus was caught on video rubbing dirt on her body to make it look like she's been out looking hard for the missing girl.

Not top PP but fyi I can tell you it's not a hoax because she is my friend's brother's niece.

^^sorry I meant my friend's niece (friend's brother's daughter)

I feel like her drunkenly driving into a body of water and dying is orders of magnitude more likely than being abducted along with her car.

Where are you reading these details? Is that from websleuths?

I have read that the friends parents are private investigators—seems way too creepy if true. And how totally bizarre that she and the ex BF both said in social media that tips are supposed to be filtered through them??!! And of course investigators said that’s totally untrue…

I read that the party was a 30 minute drive from her house.

Oh, I think it adds up. It adds to up to zero responsible adults, who all let their kids attend this party which was a regular, known event. I'm shocked how many parents seem to abdicate parenting responsibilities once the hands-on young years are done, or how many parents so desperately want to be the "cool" parent that they aren't a parent at all.
